I tried single player last night - just felt like a chore didn't enjoy it at all. Just kept wanting the CPU to let me win cos I wanted the unlocks.

Love how they've set different rules for unlocking stuff though - very nice touch.

mine asks me to install an update and when it tries to it bombs out to dashboard, saying there was an error.

it means i'm disconnected from live when i'm playing it
I get this sometimes with updates and have a workaround :

Go back to dashboard, hit the X button to sign your profile out, then boot the game up. Once the game is loaded (at the main menu for example) hit the guide button then X to log your profile in again - It'll prompt you to do the update and should work this time.

Has anyone catched what Jeurgan is saying when he puts his hand over his mouth, he laughs and then says something, i'm sure he is saying '****'

Another good moment was putting luc (french bastard) on the floor after a quick left and right spin shot

I'm starting to get cheesed off with this online now. last 3 matches, 2 opponents have quit mid-game (after i was winning!) and the other was sooooo lagged. The opponent just stood there while the ball was coming from all over the place

Ha, just picked up an XBox 360 today and grabbed this too. Loving it! Ghost Recon hasnt had a look in.

Still trying to figure out best serving techniques, and i need to make sure i stay more in the centre of the table, as i keep getting myself stranded.

Had a nice big rally of about 50 shots, which was class. Love the way the music starts to kick in.

On another note, is the 360 really meant to make so much noise? That fan is one loud mother.

Got this today super cheap for ?24.99...

Its an okay game but I don't see it as quite as amazing as some of you guys are mentioning...its a table tennis game, umm thats it.

It's pretty well done but let down by no career mode etc.

1st game online and I got absolutely battered due to the 360 live "getting people of equal skill together" bull****.

Not sure I'll keep it, will play it more but not certain I'll keep it for long.

Normally I don't mind losing a game if its fun, but this (along with Top Spin 2 for the 360) are infuriating...excellent if you are scoring points but when you are totally outclassed (which isn't supposed to happen remember) it becomes very boring but you don't want to just quit because of the etiquette involved.

Been playing online for about 2 hours and got owned, have yet to win 1 game. Where's the newbie players? The ones online are Table tennis machines.

Also online tournament mode, getting a beating from 7 guys and not being able to quit isn?t fun.

Jesper is a ****ing arse, I've played him about 15 times in a row now in a tournament final and still he keeps beating me, gah.

Can anyone help me out, I'm alright at this but my main problem is that I seem to 'pop' the ball up high quite a lot sometimes and it gets difficult to keep the game flowing and I don't actually know what I'm doing to cause this to happen.

                            re: some people's online comments...

I think perseverance is the key here. I played 7 matches online the day I got this game and lost every single one of them. I was starting to lose my enthusiasm somewhat for the game. Especially since a couple of the matches were epic rally fests that I just seemed to always be on the losing end of. Thankfully, yesterday and today I think I've now racked up a grand total of 4 or 5 ranked exhibition victories. Which is a great feeling when you finally get one. What also helped for me was entering into the tournament modes online. Playing against 7 other people really helped me come across a better range of skills within people. I've played 3 tournaments now, each with 8 players and came 3rd in each one. I daresay I'll probably never win one, mainly because there seems to be some utter ninja's online at this game.

Also had my first laggy match tonight which was so painful, I thought I was winning points but the point was going to the other guy, and...ugh. Only once though, so touchwood it won't happen too often.

Either playing the shot too late, or just being on the receiving end of a focus shot.

First case you just have to set your shot up earlier, second case get back as far as you can to have a small chance of returning the smash

started playing this yesterday and was initially totally non-plussed by it, then it started to click, then I won a few matches against the CPU.

have to say now i absolutely love it, it has an almost Nintendo like control system, which is really the highest praise I can give it.

this could be the game that after years of resistence finally gets me to take a console online.
