    Bleeders about this 'accurate pass'

Would that help in situations when your in the box and want to square it to you strike partner, but triple-cross crosses it to hard, thu pass never makes it to them and pass it also to soft.

That would be the one mate. ;p

Basically, documented in the guide it says when your running towards the goal-line press towards the goal-line (not towards the box) and hit either 'Y' or 'A', should pull off a perfectly weighted pass.

Triple cross doesn't seem to be quite as effective in this one either. On 5, I managed to cut people open often using that from inside the opponents half, since defenders are drawn to the ball and it left gaps in the middle to exploit.

All this talk is making my head spin :/

I?ve not played WE/PES properly for years and have only played offline so far, but all this talk of ?accurate? pass and middle shoot make me realise that I will most likely have mine handed to me if I go online.

Doing a single player league (as Man Utd) at the moment and despite a disappointing loss to Charlton on match day 2 things seemed to be ticking over nicely (especially proud of coming behind at Chelsea to win 2-1). Things took a turn for the worse though when I suffered an embarrassing 1-1 draw against West Ham (they equalised in second half injury time ;_; ) followed by 2 losses on the bounce to Man City and Fulham. Currently sitting 4th in the league with my next match against the team placed joint top (Tottenham).

I have found it very enjoyable but like I said having been out of the PES loop for a few years I haven?t got anything to compare it to. Shooting has been an issue so hopefully I can grasp this Middle Shoot function and up that goal difference column.

Thanks for that bleeders, will give it a go tonight.

I still use triple cross but only when the box is full, and you just might get lucky with either an own goal or get an easy tap in off a deflection.

The double cross is a weapon of mass destruction, especially if, like me, your preferred modeof attack is down the wings. Got a sueprb goal last night.. Beckham steaming down the line, no angle for cross as defender in place so he back heels to the supporting Salgado who whips in a devilsih cross to the front post waist height... Ronaldo, without breaking stride flys into a flying volley and lashes the ball into the corner by a helpless Petr Cech... oh how I celebrated and then lameneted the missing goal save option

Double cross FTW, look out for it boys!!

Ok finally, finally got my copy last night and have already noticed some things.

Have any of you guys noticed that the slowdown on free kicks online disappears if you press LT+RT to change the set piece formation? The slowdown just goes away completely and you can even cycle through the formation to return to the original one.

I also noticed you can in fact abuse the ranked matches provided your friends can search for the criteria you've set (language, teams, time) and see you in the list. Unless I am missing something people could just replay friends over and over and rise through the rankings. I actually dont care at all about this as its just stats but it is also good in a way as if you choose to use ranked matches to just play people you respect it would track your stats for that.

The whole widescreen thing is pointless to me as HD is where its at. If you are going to play in widescreen you might as well go buy the PS2 version and stick with that. I am loving the look/pace of the 360 version, even online its acceptable to me except for the slowdown on set pieces and when notifications appear on screen. Surely that can be patched though?

Overall after an initial scare this isnt as bad as people have been making it out to be. Also I think my hybrid 360 controller with controller S D-Pad is now officially my controller of choice for this. Originally made for SF2 it makes playing PES6 alot easier on 360 so if anyone is having trouble using the analog sticks and hates the Dpad I would reccommend doing this.

Now I just gotta learn this middle-shot business.......

Was working on the middle shot tonight a fair bit and it is an essential tool for those deft slotted finishes, works a treat but gotta have the quick fingers to nail it good. Also noticed for striking thunder bolts its great if you stop moving (Hit RT or RB depending on configuration) then hit RT+LT or RB+LB to knock the ball a few yards ahead of you THEN hit the power shot, really makes accurate without sacrificing power. Hard to pull off with opponents breathing down your neck but looks great and really gets you a superb strike.

There is so much depth in the mechanics here it is great just peeling back all the layers to get really good at the game am loving it!!

The criticism on this thread about the 'lack of flow' in the 360 version convinced me to buy this game and I'm really enjoying it.

If there's one thing that turned me off previous Pro Evos/Winning Elevens, it was the lack of realism. Fans would reguarly point out that WE was 'just like the real thing', a fact that I would reguarly claim was complete bollocks.

The speed in which you could pass the ball around in traditional Pro Evos is completely unrealistic. Some of those videos of the PS2 game in this thread show a one touch passing of amazing ability. Watch the real video of even the Argies goal in the WC and you'll see how rarely play occurs like this.

So the 360 game is the game of choice imo.

Nonny the 360 version is the only one with widescreen - is that really what you meant to say ?

I could swear the game was faster when I played at 640x480 Normal res via VGA. What the?

A mod got released for Pro Evo 5 PC the other night which added widescreen.

Wouldn't be suprised if it comes out for Pro Evo 6 PC soon.

I'm slowly starting to like the game after a lot of initial frustration. The problem is that I hate messing around with the tactics too much.

In version 5 used to set my preffered formation and then select "quick setting" from the menus to select side attack etc.

This now seems to have dissapeared, can any of you guys suggests how I can quickly set the tactics without messing around with manual/auto tactics which don't seem to have the same effect for me (I could quite easily be confused).

                          Cheers

I believe you can use the kitserver prog to run PC version in WS already.

I'll try this one next, Bleeders accurate pass worked a treat last night. A similar way to get in a powerful volley shot is to just flick the right analog stick up and down and that will get the ball off the ground and bouncing. Looks amazing when you pull of a half volley into the roof of the net.

Mardigan8 you mentioned your wing play as being you preferred method of attack but something which is causing me problems is holding on to the ball when I'm running down the wing. As the players can't run away from the defenders now i find myself having to turn back before i can cross it, and 9 times out of 10 the defender takes the ball from me. Any tips?

I've seen people doing the down up on the right stick to flick the ball up and it going quite high and not too far forward which makes it ripe for a volley but whenever I try and do it they never seem to get any height on the ball? Is there something I'm missing?
