As for the controller Psycho Mantis, I use the PS2 dual shock by way of a USB adapter (from Play.com). This enables me to map the buttons EXACTLY to the PS2 version - even the analgue sticks. There are currently no patches to bring kits up to date but the Kitserver that we used in PES 5 is bound to be worked on as I type.

Is it this converter you are using? Too bad it's sold out.

I'm not a big fan of the PS2-controllers analog-stick, so I might pick up a wired 360-controller as well, but at only ?10.49 for that converter, it might be worth picking up for other games as well. Hope it's in stock soon.

Still not loving it but something i hadn't thought of was that i never used the analog-sticks, hated them for PES. So going to the 360 pad has not been ideal, but using the 360 d-pad did make this feel alot more familar.

Not going to play with it that way forever tho so does any one know if that rumor about a 360 PES pad was true?

And about the PC-version, is there any patches with "official" kits and stuff for download, or will it take some time before it'll be out?

But problem at the moment (and all weekend) is that no one can get on Konami's ****ed up servers. Tearing our hair out at the moment.


BTW. Another thing is that we've been using FRAPS to record highlights and goals for YouTube. Just for those "special" moments and goals we'd like to share with the world.

HeHe, I used to make and post supporters flags on there for Pro Evo4 PC back in the day, did a complete premiership and serie A set.

Found an old Seire A flag set pic on my hard drive.



If I get the urge I might try and do it all again.

Back on topic; the servers are still messed up today, managed to get into the lobby just once before the connection failed.

Still the two games I had in the very early hours of this morning were totally lag free. I just hope we don't have to wait too long before a decent service is in place.

Anyway, does anyone have any news on the Pro Evo 360 pad then? I am not going to trade it as I'm sure it'll improve - but just can't get on with the 360 pad. It hurts my hands after a few games.

Is it just me or does the AI have no idea of what a useful through ball and run is? I keep walking away from it but every time I come back to it I could kill a man after the first 2 games I play and the incredibly unintelligent passing choices the game makes!

I played this for the first time this morning and will be getting my money back in the morning.

As a single player game i really enjoyed this although i found i keep using the L button for close control. But online it stank. Me and Sharky_ob had a few games and it didn't even seem like the same game anymore. One game we had we started off playing each other and at some point during the second half we realised we were playing completly different games. It was 3-0 on his and 1-0 on mine, yet we still ended up in the option screen together after the game!

It's fair to say it has its problems, and they may even fix them all in the near future. But to be honest i think i may have had my fill of pro evo. Does it really offer that much more each year to justify shelling out for it again? If it had worked perfectly online and had all the missing options and stadiums etc. i'm sure i would be keeping it. Now i just want to play a new game.

Nicely nailed Gradius - If you want to keep papping out the same **** year on year there at least has to be SOME progress made - The 360 version of this flies in the face of that and, it would seem, is paying for it badly.

What I don't get is all the positivity around the game before launch - Initial "reviews" and hands-on were gushing with praise and yet within 1/2 games I was less than impressed.....

Just had an amazing and frustrating game online! It was all me! 70% possession, I was taking the p**s out of the other player and he/she still won 1-0. I had a peno, didn't even move the analog stick, I just tapped the shoot button and it blasted WAY over the bar. Might get the PC version I love the 360 version apart from the shooting.

Been looking forward to two 360 games this winter. PSU + PES 6 and I've ended up deciding to get them both on PC as well!

I've taken my copy back, and gone for the vastly superior PS2 version (which appears to basically be Winning Eleven 10 with updated transfers etc).
I'm bitterly disappointed by this, really hoping that next year konami will have a genuine 'next gen' Pro Evo out there, more likely on PS3 i guess (as i hear that the Winning Eleven brand will be exclusive to PS3, and they're more likely to concentrate their efforts on this version i'd imagine).
