I would recommend going on youtube and finding a video of someone playing that part, you can see if it is a bug or if you doing somethign wrong.

I have warped back to the newly unfrozen zora place where they are all woozy after being frozen and back down the waterfall a few times. Still a gate blocking the frigging exit. No sign of it anywhere on the net

Go speak to the 2 guards on the bridge and they then swin off to the left which inturn you swim down after them and it takes you to hyrule castle thats if your in the twilight if not. The bridge is at the bottom of the water fall back down towards were you got that big bird thing to give you a lift

I am still in Twilight and have tried going down that route but I'm not sure what I need to do once I get to the castle... Theres no way to the lake from there, is there?

well you collect the bug from there and then you head back to the waterfall for the spirit to wake up because you have collected all the tears

Thats the thing... I haven't even GOT the tear necklace. Haven't been able to get to the lake at all!

once you thaw the ice, you talk to the Queen, hop in the water and it takes you out of the domain, all the way to the Lake, where you then go to meet the Spirit and get the tear collector thingy. That's how it went for me.

OK, for me then I thawed the ice, talked to the Queen... Then the path is still blocked

Shame that Lake Hylia doesn't have the same impact as in OoT. It was always fantastic riding into the area to see the lake spread before you. This time it's missing that. it's bloody deep though. And with that in mind, how come there are no big sea monsters swimming about? Was expecting something more, like Mario 64 or even SotC. Resi Evil lake scene would have been a bit ott though

next to the howling wolf rock (near afro guys house) theres a plant which summons that ugly twilight bird thing, to fly you back to the lake. its a bit hard to see, but easier if you use your senses. its different from using the actual wolf rock itself.

Where do you get the fishing rod in the village at the start? I understand I need to get that to catch a fish to catch the cat to give to the woman so I can buy the slingshot thing... sounds like nursery rhyme, lol.

Superb game so far bythe way, obviously only just scratched the surface but can see it is going to be epic.
