Side slide shuffle shows at up/down G+P+K at the end of a combo, try something like forward P+K down G+P+K then the moves that need it.
Dammit going to make those arrows myself in a minute.

I've set it to:
Red = G
Blue = P
Yellow = K
Trying to find a button setup that feels comfortable.
Green = G
Red = P
Blue = K
This is the best setup as it allows you to guard with your thumb.

VF5 may be the bees knees to those of us who have been playing VF since the Saturn days, but I do wonder how the 'newer' crowd are finding their first dip into a proper () fighter!
I allways imagined there to be thousands (not literaly) but there seems to be quite little compared to my image that was built up of the VF series. I know though that eventually you run out of buttons for new moves, the fact that mastering all the moves is tough and that there's sixteen characters all with different moves to get your teeth into. But I was just quite suprised after completing the dojo with Lei Fei and doing a large chunk of the quest mode with him, on how I run out of new moves to perform. I haven't mastered him but I just got a bit tired of the same button presses i did.
But anyway, great game and I've started to play with Kage now. Looks awesome if you customise the hell out of him!Last edited by Malc; 30-10-2007, 15:35.

Malc, try scrolling left in the command list as there are several pages of moves.
I still don't quite know what to make of the game. I really wanna like it but am finding it difficult to do so. Firstly it's really not at all suited to the 360 pad, even simple commands like 'hold down, <, >, P' are incredibly difficult to pull off and incredibly frustrating as i remember pulling them off with ease in VF2 on the Saturn but I refuse to spend another £50 on a stick. Quest mode seems unneccesarily long-winded and drawn out, Dojo mode is too unforgiving and flawed because it regularly assumes you know what certian moves and stances are. Online versus play is better but there's definately unseen lag as I regularly can't perform moves that I pull off with ease offline. Graphically I find it it quite generic, too shiny and somewhat lazy as many of the arenas seem almost semi-3D, and the less said about the music and commentry the better. I don't know, I'll perservere with it as there's no denying it's a very deep and technical fighter, and one I really want to like, but I'll be surprised if it replaces Soul Calibur as my favourite beat 'em up.

You have no soul
Definitely agree with the pad comments throughout this thread, I can't see myself putting up with it for much longer. I find myself swapping back and forth between the d-pad and stick when certain movements can't be pulled off. Still waiting for pay day to come round though.........
The commentary can grate, but it's not exactly a fully fledged feature of the game, just an extra. I don't even notice the music on anything but the menu screens, it's certainly not offensive on the ears, if anything I'd accuse it of being a tad bland.
Generic graphics though?????? the game is lush

Well I've turned the music and commentry off so, you're right, they're not major issues. Graphically it can look lush, but it can also look meh, depends on the stage and lighting, but I definately would have preferred a little more impressionism employed in the overall art style and direction to help set it apart from a visual standpoint. Might sound a funny thing to say, but I can't help wishing it was more grainy too as I feel that would help emphasise the 3D-ness of the game, which is strangely lacking.
