I like not having online achievments. As predicted the online is a lottery whether you will have lag or not. Virtua fighter for me has always been about the single player and playing with others in the same room. In fact I'd go so far as to say that I think most games shouldn't have online achievments, as people concentrate on getting them instead of just playing the game properly.

Maybe for you, but I think for most people getting the 10th Dan achievement or whatever for online play would be more rewarding, not to mention more challenging. In fact having these kinds of achievements offline can make people not play the game properly, since they'll be spamming cheap combos against the AI so they can get them quickly, whereas online they'd need to use some skill to get them.

This game is awesome! The little touches are great, and I am in love with Sarah!

Noticed they added some DLC for this today.

          VF5 Item Pack 1 for 300 pts

Contains 3 items for each character apparently.

Still, not having any achievements which recognize online play is a farce. Quest mode is fun for a while, but to do everything is gonna take forever. The achievements aren't rewarding skill at all, but mind-numbing amounts of patience. Very poor show AM2.
Quest mode is too big, does my head in looking at the list of players still to beat, and yet you still end up having to fight players you have beaten over and over as well.

Thing is I wouldn't mind so much if you were not forced to do all this with the same character, but doing it all with the same character gets very boring.

I gave up with Quest mode and just went through Arcade with every character.

As for online achievements I do think they should have had some because its seriously way harder than the offline mode.

Ok question. I'm loving the game, but one thing thats confusing me.

I'm buying clothes with the money I get from winning tournaments, but when I go to edit my character they're not showing up. I have the first 3 costumes of the character I'm playing as and don't know why when I go into any of the 3 of them, I can't select (or even see) the clothes I have purchased.

The whole point with Virtua Fighter is that it's mimicking the game setup in Japan (i.e. IC Card containing all your character data/accessories etc. playing through and fighting different VF opponents).

When you're buying clothes it shows below the price which costume (ABCD) they work with, but to customise the charater you need to do it from the home menu in quest mode, and go to item edit. Then choose the outfit you want to edit, and then you can set which one has what parts. From the same menu you can alter which two of the four outfits you can cycle between in arcade mode (e.g. instead of using A and B, you could use C and A or something)

                        That's kinda silly I think.
I mean, it's not like you can't take off your kimono to put a jacket on o.O
                        Thanks for the help though

The Xbox Live game lobby in this game is a ******* Joke, can't change your character or the level when playing against a friend without quiting and sending a new invite. Admittedly most are likely to keep using the same character since it takes ages to learn 1 character but damn can I have a change of scenery please? - This is what they should have attended to first instead of releasing bloody items at 300 points..

Plus the item shop is complete bull**** - you can't see what items looks like on your character without wasting your G and traversing through the whack menus unlike Tekken DR Online which incidentally (going back to the first point) also has a very decent lobby system.

Finally is just me or does DOA4 look much better graphically, anyway with all these complaints I still like the VF fighting system hence still own the game but I ain't buying any content until they sort this **** out.

Virtua Fighter 5 is on the 360 in Japan now and Hori have brought out a new stick, the Virtua Fighter 5 Live Arena Stick, and it's much better looking than the Ex 2 version.

Does anyone have one and have any impresions?
