Yep, I've been abusing the parry/counter attack - it's great when surrounded

I appear to be the only person still playing this then...

I'm now at the Palace Of Fates & I have to say that the game is dragging a little; the puzzle element is glaringly underdone - 'so it doesn't get in the way of the combat' is the cry, in which case why bother with it at all? I've recently completed the puzzle -

where you have to push a statue against a pulsing wall of flame, whilst constantly under attack from the flaming birds - it's not hard, just a little frustrating & smacks heavily of artificial extension.

I don't want to be too moany about it as I've yet to finish the game, but I'm at the point where -

I just want to smack Zeus around a bit. I'm assuming that this is where it's all leading?

EDIT - just another moan -

where the **** did the Kraken/sea monster fight come from? Random, & a very dull fight too.

No, I'm still playing it (with big gaps in between to make it last).

Just did that bit last night and I agree it's a swine until you figure out that

the nests of flaming bat thingys can be destroyed and you can then carry on unhindered.

But this comes back to my main gripe with this game - it's got frustrating examples of games design in it. That bit is a good example, because you never really know if you're missing something or if the enemies will just respawn until you've killed enough of them.

        Same with the

rapidly closing spiked gates bit just before it.

I didn't know if I should be looking for something to stop them or just kill enough of everything to make them stop.

And it's that inconsistancy which makes it seems arse backwards in places.

For every brilliant moment in this game (and there's loads) there are moments like the above which make you curse out loud and want to snap the controller.

Still loving it, but some aspects are like the concentrated essence of the underworld spike blades from the original and that's not good.

I think that's a very fair assessment of the game.

          Finished it last night anyway - the end run, whilst overlong, does contain a highpoint of the game for me;

the battle against Lahkesis & Atropos was top notch; very enjoyable scrap.

Good stuff all round, but not a game I think I'll return to.

No HD mode for PAL PS3 owners, it seems:

I must say I'd forgotten that there was 'supposed' to be a rumble feature in this game.

Is the limited edition worth buying, what's on the disk ?

Is it just one making of documentry or other stuff as well ?

I bought mine from Game, and they made no mention of a special ed. They usually try to sell you the most expensive version lol it was the manager i was talking to!

I thought that was a very good game. Liked the twist in the ending. I have the Special Edition so I will watch the content now I have finished the game - will report back.

Loving this so far, just completed the lava section. Easily GOTY for me so far

Haven't found it too taxing yet but some of the platform sections have been a little troublesome

Can't wait to see GoW3 on the PS3

I have to say that I am upset by the lack of Prog Scan in the Pal version of this game. it seems stupid to take it out if its already there.

Just started again on Hard mode - the Into battle makes a lot more sense knowing what Zeus is chatting about at the start. Great game indeed - the starting set piece is so cool.

As much as I enjoyed it, I didn't find anything in the game to top the opening :/

Ah dont say that... the opening was the best bit for me so far, but all the boss fights have been superb. Looking forward to seeing what the finale holds.

Blair - What does Zeus say at the start that makes more sense after another play through? I dont remember anything sticking out with him at the start??
