Halo 3 online mutiplayer beta.

There are clearly some issues - but - it's a beta - so these things have to expected, can't seem to start a game at all now, and I'd expect more of this in the coming days too.

I have at least managed to get one game, and it was good fun, I haven't played much Halo 2 online to compare, but it seems like it's well balanced if a little slow compared to other online FPS shooters ( I actually prefer that though ).

Another thing, I'm bit saddened by the lack of options in the Film mode, it just played back the match i saved and i couldn't do anything but sit and watch, oh well it is the beta.

It was finding games fine when it was out last friday and so on.....Apparantly the server is having some problems.

Yeah they have already commented how limited it has been made for the beta. Full version all players multiple angles slow down rewind etc !

Yeah, Its all going about that the Halo 3 beta servers have crashed and they're trying to get back into it. If you go onto Bungie.net its stopped saying how many people are playing online and how many games etc...And when you're on the Halo 3 beta itself it says 970 people (dropped from 50k).

Anyway, me and my friend are logging back onto Halo 2 to see how it compares. Anyone who wants to join is welcomed.

well ive played this all afternoon and I have to say this has totally underwhelmed me.
Same old same old.
Abosolutely no evolution whatsoever.
Hopefully the campaign is better.

I was in a room with Marty and few others, said 16 players max, yet when we had six it said "too many players" ?!? Tried different maps and game-types and still same problem. Quit to another room of six and itworked fine. Strange.

Plays exactly as I expected by the way, all good

you can have 16 players in a lobby. the gametypes available only allow for 8 players though which is why you get the message. obviously they've not altered the code to max out the current lobby at 8 players which is annoying when you have to boot someone (sorry!)

God I'm rubbish at this game.. I've never played Halo 1 or 2, and just managed to get a game of a sniper level on Halo 3. Needless to say I came last after being snipered every 5 seconds.

Its not very forgiving for people who have never played the game before or much fun...

It's not the game that's not forgiving - it's the people you're playing with. It's hardly going to adjust your auto-aim for example if/when it determines you're a noob.

Live is on it's arse - was to be expected I guess but you've got to question the logic behind this BETA given the state of affairs - As mentioned previously number of crackdown copies sold + number of codes issued = number of players to be expected max. Allow for it.
