I agree (and have done already) with everything TA says above but there is one annoying issue with this game and that is online play on ranked matches.

If I open up a lobby and invite a friend in so there are 2 of us and then search for a ranked match either quick, team or team championship it just keeps us waiting forever and never finds a game but doesn't tell us it hasn't found one it just flashes away saying matchmaking in progress.

Is it because there is 2 of us in the room and that is really hard to find a match for? All we want to do is play some ranked matches rather than just a custom one all the time? Am I doing something obviously wrong?

Nah copperband it just seems not many people are bothering with the matchmaking which is a real shame - I've played it a couple of times with Rusty & Co but we got bent right over.

I know what you mean though, I think I managed about two/three ranked games since the game was released, hardly anyone playing it on the MM playlist it seems.

I find the car racing hard mate, no matter what I try I can't keep up with the pack and even on the very early career races, one mistake and you can be out of it, which is a little too harsh for my liking.

Sorry to drift off-topic, but I can't let you say that, mate. Sure, it wasn't exactly yesterday, but they did the Marathon series -- which were basically System Shock for the Mac. Those games walked all over all FPSs short of System Shock and Ultima Underworld back then. Funny thing is, I know at least one French magazine flamed the first Marathon because not only was it one of the very first games to feature mouselook, it also forced you to use it (and strafe with the arrow keys).

They also did the Myth series, which I haven't played but seem to recall getting good reviews.


I have faith that their next game will be a good one.

The new Cat and Mouse is my main gripe with PGR4. The revised contact physics between cars feels forced and lacks subtlety, the way it forces both mouse and cats into fixed G and A classes and the ugly ring under the mouse car have all but ruined the mode. It's a real pity as Cat and Mouse is what kept me playing PGR3 for months after I tired of racing and is considered PGR's jewel in the crown by many players.

Loving this but the car racing is really too hard.

Was trying a silver medal in arcade, couldn't get near the pack so bought a car I thought was faster. Nope, still can't do it.

Yet, jump on a bike and I can 1st place every single event.

Just what you're used to I guess, I can't get anywhere with the bikes and stick with the cars for now.

Any tips on the endo king achievement? It's driving me absolutely nuts. I've tried racing on ice to aid my endo-ing...tried everything, just won't pop up!

You need the Xerox Ducati, get to at least 140mph (use a straight on the Test Track) and whack up an endo, then drop the back wheel as soon as you hit 100 Kudos. Did it in the dry by the way.

Choose a fast bike with poor breaks and good drifting and play a custom race on Las Vegas Boulevard Straits. When you're on the long straight and above 165mph go for the endo but try not to tilt up fully on the stick, try tilting it up around 80%.

I've been trying on the US bridge level...just cannot hit more than 98 kudos. Will try your suggestions soon...

I've been getting up to 169mpg and it just not happening for me.

Note that stunts (hold B) are available during endos as well. Maybe this can help?

Um, don't go over 160mph when you're going for that cos that means you'll get Top Speed kudos, and the Achievement won't unlock.

I ain't too keen on the bike's twitchyness (it's a word!) and wasn't really struck on using one either. But hey ho whad'ya know, racking up the wins now. Very ****ing odd that. As long as you don't fall off you seem to come in first. Don't even go very fast when I'm on one! Very strange.

That basic pickup truck that you get at the beginning is also very good for gaining first place. It sticks to the bloody ground despite being a lumbering sod of a car.

What view do people use? I find I'm swapping depending on track/time of day and vehicle. Anyone else not finding a happy medium?
