Same here, I was thinking it was going to be almost impossible at the start of that one.

I wasn't suprised by the tesla as electric cars are very quick off the line.

Bought the caparo pack for one of the events and absolutely caned the opposition. Brilliant. Much dartier than I expected though, you certainly can't feel any downforce.

Anyone got any tips for the Kudos vs Time Arcade challenges please ? I struggle every time on that type of challenge. Thanks.

Get a car that drifts like crazy and make use of it. E-brake around all corners, don't be afraid to keep drifting way past them, burnout every chance you get and avoid hitting barriers. The more your driving looks like Ridge Racer, the better.

Use a bike, you can continually drift down straights. Can't remember the one I used, was an old one that won't wheelie.

Drift constantly in something with a lively rear end, and that means on the straights too. Piece of cake if you keep the drift going for ages.

I'm finding it VERY difficult in career right from the start. Then I switched to bikes and it got a lot easier.

It shouldn't be as hard as it is though, even on normal it's literally impossible (for me at least) to catch the 1st place car. Unless I'm missing something really obvious?
I'm finding it really difficult too, I'm playing with the wheel so i was blaming it on this but i think the game is tough in general. Having said that i haven't bought a new car yet but you should be able to get 1st using the default cars surely otherwise whats the point of having them in the game?

Oh and can anyone give me and hints on getting a good start. I presume the less burnout the better but i find taking me foot of the gas is the only way to stop it doing this.

I think the tracks are the thing that elevates this over PGR3 for me. AWESOME!

i hate time vs kudos. it doesnt work like i thought it would at all.

i thought you should have to work out which corners you should drive around properly/quickly, and which it was more advantageous to drift around to get the kudos and stop the clock.
but it doesnt work like that at all.

like everyone else says, just drift constantly. even up all the straights etc.
i dont like doing them at all.

I think the achievements help too...275 on first play!

Im finding it just a oh my god Im going to create a baby just in arcade and online so far every and single day Im playing it which is rare for my attention span (I want to do at least all platinum on arcade for either bike or car then move onto career). I want a slap in the testies to think i was worried this would be average after PGR3, best racer for me in years

The Standard Elise 111R and VX220 Turbo would both do the same, both beat it to 60, IIRC and have a similar power to weight. Throw in some corners (and not too many long straights) and you're left with the kind of gap you see with the Tesla.

It's just that we associate untouchable performance with Ferrari's even old ones.

I'm hitting a brick wall right now on arcade. I've done almost every race so far on platinum, but the horses for courses one is killing me. At least 2 so far where gold is way too easy, and platinum is just ridiculous.

That's more how PGR3 worked - you had to try and drift round the corners in such a way you maintained some speed but also managed to build up some kudos. Constant sliding would get you nowhere as the amount of time you could convert from kudos was very limited.

I've only tried a couple of the PGR4 ones but they seem to need a stupid amount of sliding to be able to get within the time, it reminds me of PGR1 which up until now Bizarre have steered away from.

PGR4 this is amazing its got everything . At last a single player mode thats half decent, a online photo mode to die for, and hands down the best 5.1 sound and engine samples I've heard , and if thats not enough the car line up and graphics are stunning (better even than PD car models). I was racing inthe snow on a track in Canada , and you could almost feel the cold it was so real , I'm just amazed at the graphics in PGR 4, Shame then MS and the idot that is Bach, lets BC be bought out by Activsion . Wake me up when MS Studios grow a brain

Racing online is the wet on this is so much fun its needs to be banned .

Loving this but the car racing is really too hard.

Was trying a silver medal in arcade, couldn't get near the pack so bought a car I thought was faster. Nope, still can't do it.

Yet, jump on a bike and I can 1st place every single event.

Nothing hard about the car racing - rattled several platinums and gold on everything up till now - not even bothered with the bikes but yes they are piss easy in comparison.

TA - I think people have misjudged MS's savvy in letting Bizarre and Bungie go.

Particularly with Bungie - people seem to forget they're nothing but Halo-makers they haven't done ANYTHING else and if you think the next title they make will sell at a Halo level on the back of the Bungie logo alone it's just not going to happen whereas conversely MS could have some **** studio make Halo4, it be crap COD3 style and still sell like hotcakes.

Similarly with Bizarre, all they've done is pump out PGR after PGR - I'd put money on the fact that compared to the PGR games "The Club" will probably not sell 50% as much.

I think they've done a very clever thing.
