God if only there was an X button in real life that allowed you to skip through the bulk of those conversations, like you can in this

Mass Effect is pretty much my GOTY now. Everything about this game is just well though out.

I actually really enjoy the combat in this game. Playing as a Soldier here. It takes awhile to get into, especially with your weak team mates. Although once you've leveled up a decent bit, and you get into swapping and updating you and your teams weapons and armor, the combat really takes off.

I actively use the shotgun, pistol and assault rifle. The sniper hardly gets any use as it seemed useless. I have leveled it up a decent bit, and perhaps its time I try it out with my higher sniper skill.

Love the story and the character interaction. Its quite refreshing to have a game which a good plot and well thought out characters for a change. So far I'm playing this as a good guy, will be looking forward to see how the different story settings and choices will change the game. I liked how

How I got a side mission which related to the sole survivor choice I made at the beginning. Shame it was short, as it could of been elaborated. Still, it was good having it

Music is great and gives the game a great atmosphere's. Nothing else has to be said really.

One thing I don't get is all this *** going around this game. Before buying the game, there was the perception floating around that it was really buggy and unfinished. Yet here I am with over 20 + hours and I've seen nothing of this.

Who is the best dude to buy stuff off?

I buy from the dude in the bottom of the Normandy. Got my Spectre weapons from him, but alas I haven't found the Spectre armor yet. I got some pretty good heavy armor from a guy in the markets as well.

Spectre weapons? Spectre armor? I've not heard of anything like that, is it just called "Spectre armor" etc or does it have a random name but made by a spectre company?

The C-Sec Requisitions officer near the academy has the Spectre Weapons for sale. They are clearly labelled as Spectre only, so maybe they only appear at a later time?

When you become a Spectre you are told to visit him and view the special items which he has for Spectre's. I did that about 2 hours in and once I told him I was a Spectre he brought up his special list. Didn't pay to much attention to it at the time though, as my funds were so limited.

Managed to get my first manufacturers licence last night, will be interesting to see how that impacts the guy on the Normandies offering's, as he was hassling me to get licenses for him !

I'm playing as a Picard/Bauer amalgam atm. Quite hard to always keep my character though with some of the suggested answers. Have to say as well that I have replayed quite a few conversations and quite often different answers result in exactly the same response from Shepherd - was a bit surprised by that !

Oh them, heh I never actually bothered buying anything from the merchants other than licences. I'll have to take another look.

Ahhh so that's what the licenses do! Doh.

23hours on save (new game+) and ive just got the Completionist achievement, (complete the majority of the game) its a good game, but i reckon i could speed run the main story easy as anything.

Sort of disapointed not to see more cities and such like to be able to visit on other planets, since basically there are none, its just uncharted worlds with debris etc. The ingame content download option mentions expansion packs, so something to look forward to in the future perhaps.
Again tho im having the same sort of ugh feeling i had when playing assassins creed, its just not as deep as id thought it would be

No problem. I found the actions of the AI are passable when you change to that setting and then leave them to their own devices and don't try to order them about. It's when you start to tell them to take cover etc that it all starts to fall apart.

AI controlled Biotics in particular are comedy gold with this setting (and when they get strong enough). They end up hurling people all over the place. Blasting them into fiery bits as they cartwheel through the sky is too much fun.

I forgot to add in my post yesterday but you asked what the omni-tool is for. I don't think it's actually does anything but is just equipped on characters that have Engineering skills. You don't get them to use it as such.

Fair point but both of those characters are optional to tag along with you and since I didn't know who was in his party then I had to assume he didn't have them and was basing it on class alone.

While I haven't finished it yet I know that feeling well.

I was up until around 12.00 last night doing the
storyline mission and couldn't stop until it was done including the fall out from decisions made.

                              *MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING*

It didn't help that I'd spent a lot of time with Williams and Alenko since starting the game so I had developed some sort of fellowship with them that I didn't even realise was there until I was forced into a decision over them.

I then spent 30 minutes or so just lying in bed, hyped up over what had happened and chewing over the decision. It actually left me feeling a certain level of regret (and a little bit of sadness) over what I had decided and I could see what Che was saying over on NeoGAF about this very thing. Although at the time I had just sort of dismissed what he'd said, there I was doing the same thing

Then I chose to suck it up like a proper solider and deal with it (or in this case, just go to sleep).

But I seriously can't remember the last time I played a game where choices I'd made remained with me after I'd (reluctantly) decided to stop playing.

The Decision was easy for me

Williams was such a bitch, I was quite happy to be given the chance to kill her off
