Finished this on normal for the first time during the hols. Fantastic game, one of the best of this generation in my view, loved the art work dog pictures etc. Can't wait for the next release from ND.

So I decide to go back to this over the weekend to get the last few trophies I needed and to finally say I've beat it on Crushing.
Yes, it's very hard. Annoyingly so at times, perhaps best evidenced by the flooded basement in chapter 6 which took me in excess of 20 tries to clear.
In the process I picked up the remaining gameplay trophies I needed:
Steel Fist
Steel Fist Expert (I'm sure I glitched this as I don't think I did 5 in a row but I'm not going to dwell on it)
Grenade Hangman
Expert Dyno-Might
Which just left me with the final ??? which is obviously Charted - Crushing. So I'm quite happy with my progress then I read this:

You'll have to remember that if you want to get the trophy from Crushing then you can't use any of the unlockables. It's not just things that will help you such as
weapons
but things like
costumes
will stop you from getting it too.

Yeah i agree. I played the game back to back to back, straight after each other, and i thought Crushing wasn't all that crushing. Certain bits were, like the end, but other bits i read i would pull my hair out passed first go. Also it only took me 2 more hours or something to beat on crushing than on hard.

Went from Chapter 9 all the way to the end last night on Crushing. Profile data says it took me 10 hours 24 minutes.
Died an awful lot but in retrospect I agree with the above comments that as a whole it's not overly difficult but there are a number of sections that did take me many, many retries before I cleared (mostly the gunplay set pieces in wide open areas). The AI was scarily accurate and whilst the majority of times it took a few hits to kill me there were a number of one shot kills that beat me which were frustrating. Especially when you get picked off the moment you pop your head out from cover.
Also a couple of incidents where I entered an area and was picked off with a single shot before I'd even gotten time to get to the first piece of cover which was infuriating.
Like the WipEout HD Elite AI races, I'm glad to say that I've done it and got the trophy for it but I can honestly say that should I decide to have another playthrough of the game, it won't be on Crushing.

Well done C' mate!
I reckon your recent play-through on Uncharted (on Crushing nonetheless) has pipped my interest to go back to it at some point soon. I am kind of near the end but as you say so yourself, the accurately of the pirates is startling at times - I have noticed the increased 'one shot kill' later in the game too.
I enjoyed the game on normal mode but hard and beyond can test your wits a little bit. I hope Uncharted 2 tones down the bullet sponge-nature of the game quite a fair bit - a headshot or a couple of bullets to the chest should mean you GO DOWN, not stutter like they have been hit by a pea shooter!

Just finished this today on Normal, after playing it on and off since early February.
This is a really satisfying game! I've not had so much fun in ages (actually, kind of reminds me of playing Metal Gear Solid on the PS1, minus the overly long winded cinematics).
It's a really expertly put together game, both audio and visual design are stunning, and even the plot and voice acting etc are great (well, the
zombies were a "WTF is this doing here" moment, at first, but I got used to them).
I had totally forgotton about the slight
creepy supernatural
element very early on in the
U-boat,
so it was a bit of a cool twist. Oh, and full marks for the very good camera angles, which just work, plain and simple, none of this stupid manual adjusting that you get in some 3D games.
There was a sequence fairly near the end,
where you go up a ramp and it then goes back down a ramp on the other side, and the pirates are there but are fighting the zombies as well as you, if they spot you,
and I thought it was a great bit of AI, kind of like some of the AI in Halo. It was cool to just crouch there watching
them take the zombies out for you
Two thumbs Up, Naughty Dog! You guys made me glad I sold my Wii and got the PS3 instead, cheers!

Finished this last night also. Bought it after many good things said about it by my flatmate. Tis good to play it at this time as Uncharted 2 is out later this year and that wont be too long away after all. Just hope it equals or improves on the first one (no Devil May Cry 2 moments of inspiration please!

Well, if he ever wants to become a games tester he'll have the experience at least.
