Did you actually play the game yourself? I'm wouldn't want my 4 year old to experience the zombie things in the game. Mind you, I'd prefer he went out and played football anyway! Either way, they are your kids, up to you what you do with them.

Back on topic, I was going to play the game again myself, I'd completed it pre-trophy patch, does anyone know if I have to completely delete my save data to get the trophies? I tried it from using my current save and none popped up!

EDIT: Nevermind, started a fresh save and got 8% of the trophies in 1hour30mins...I forgot how bloody good this game was. That said, there are a few refinements they could make to make the sequel game of the year.

Bit of a problem. I've been playing this the last few evenings, and because I haven't had the PS3 online, I hadn't yet installed any updates. I've just installed update 1.10 now, however, and it seems to have wiped my save. It's on my harddrive, but there's no option to continue when I boot up the game. I can start a new game and nothing else. Anyone know why?

I'm playing the US version on a PAL machine, if that's of any significance.

You've installed the trophy patch which I think locked out any old save games.

Can you just delete the update and carry on using your old save, that should work

Yeah, I'd suggest that also. and unplug your network connection so it doesn't want to update again.

I didn't actually realise it was possible to delete updates like that, but I'll have a play around tonight and see if it works. Thanks for the help.

Champloo, this happened to me when the patch first came out - I too have the Us version of teh game, but i play on a jap ps3. Shouldn't make a difference in the regions, but in the end if just started again and played through getting the achievments....... With the patch im sure they fixed some minor bugs, or maybe im lying. But id be suprised if they didnt make some minor tweaks with the update.

The trophy patches always fuxxor me up, as im always well into a game before they decide to relase patches - happened to me on Fallout 3 Grr........

'Played' through first hour just now, seems like ages since I had a pop on the demo and the E3 sequel trailer pushed me into picking this up on the cheap. Loving the interplay between Drake and the lady reporter, great voice acting and characterisation. I guess I'm still in the tutorial part of the game as not much has happened yet except for some great narrative build up. No doubt I'll be tested soon as things are starting to kick off (and blow up).

How long would peeps say this game is?

You can finish it in 10 hours first try, maybe 8, its pretty short, but in my opinion that increases the replay value.

                          Hooray!

After leaving Nathan alone on chapter thirteen - entitled 'Sanctuary?' - sometime since the beginning of this year, I thought I would revisit the game this morning (whilst I was in bed with a mild hangover).

I was suddenly reminded why I had given up on that particular chapter (on Crushing difficulty nonetheless) earlier this year. It was the location where you encounter the SWAT-like soldiers with their laser-sighted Eagle guns and M4's for the first time in the rather enclosed courtyard area in which you are ambushed and bullets are flying from all directions.

Oddly enough, I only died once before I moved on, much to my surprise as it was fairly smooth sailing from there onwards with chapter twenty only proving to be the one where I had to retry certain checkpoints a few times.

Speaking of chapter twenty - 'Race to the Rescue' - the part where you revisit the outdoor courtyard with snipers, grenadiers and shotgun touting enemies is really quite cheekily unfair. Once you finally downed the last enemy standing, you are pushed to go through the church (once again) where you meet the same array of enemies you barely survived outside in the courtyard.

The part where I literally shouted, 'oh come on!' at my TV is when you clear the church at last - or so you think - for there to be another bunch of enemies to deal with who creep up on you behind your back.

I truly hope Naughty Dog cut that **** out in the sequel as it is a frustrating and unnecessary way to bloat and extend the length of the game.

Well, that's something I wanted to get off my mind!

I still think Uncharted is one of the best 'next-generation' experiences. The characters, dialogue and story make me appreciate Naughty Dog's craftsmanship and question how on earth Indiana Jones IV was such a mess after something like this comes along.

This is such a good game and one that I must admit I am glad to have finished on Crushing at long last too.

First play through on normal took about 12 hours. Once I knew the levels and enemies, I got crushing done in under 6, but by then I had all the hidden treasures and the like so it was just a straight play through.

I've finally started on this, up to part 12 or so I think, and so far I'm feeling it to be a tad overrated. It's nice enough, nothing bad about it but nothing particularly great either (except perhaps the voice acting which has been top notch). Graphics look nice but you can tell it's an early PS3 game - I've never seen the 'tearing' phenomenon before, but this has it by the bucketload whenever I move the camera. Post Killzone 2 it kind of grates.

I said nothing bad but I actually really hated the part where you have to go upstream in a jetski with exploding barrels coming downstream towards you, that was just plain irritating ><

If the exploration and puzzles continue to impress then I might grow fonder of it, too early to say.

It really feels like old school Tomb Raider too, did anyone else get that vibe?
