I just got the Pal version of this and am enjoying it alot, but the fame rate seems a bit stuttery to me, its the same kinda problem I found with the Pal version of the original Halo..... is the game like this for all versions or just the Pal one?
Besides that though I'm loving it, does the game actualy get any harder though? cause so far Im up to the third ranking mission and its been pretty easy...
Also, how do you get the "proper" ending I keep reading about?...

Finished it on Bitter last night - amazing game. Did the real ending this time:
Henry would have been crazy hard if I didn't have the infinite battery upgrade for the Tsubaki Mk iii. Charged low attack FTW
Best game since Mario Galaxy for me, will probably do a 3rd run in the summer when I have time in order to collect the last few
art cards and clothes
Prob not worth spoilering that but better to be safe I guess!
Oh, and I like this write up on what NMH means

As for the 'real' ending (NOT story spoilers): [spoilers]you just need to complete the game having purchased all the beam katanas. I don't think they need to be upgraded (some of the final ones are ridiculously priced) so long as you have the weapons.[/spoilers]

Actualy I havent had time to play it much so am still on the third boss... i keep nearly killing her then she decides to do this super unblockable charge attack that kills me in one hit, after all the paitence required to hack her health bar away its quite annoying that she does that.... anyway guess i'll do it eventualy....

Just made it to rank 6, the boss fights and associated cut scenes are so much fun
I really can't handle the free fight missions though, it's so punishing to only be allowed
one hit
making these way harder than any boss fight.
Also I have no clue about the timing with the
baseball
, and it's a real hassle to keep taking the contract over and over to try it.

If the enemy starts to glow red they're about to unleash an unblockable attack, and your best bet is to roll to one side as most of these attacks are forward lunges or dashes.
The other type of dodge is riskier but better because it leaves the enemy open to your attacks. Instead of rolling away with the d-pad, give the analogue stick a flick left or right to dodge around your opponent. If you do it right you'll hear a sound effect, the screen will darken and everything goes slow for a second as you move into position. You now have a moment's opportunity to attack without being blocked and it's crucial to winning the later boss fights as well as fighting the general enemies.
If you land a few hits you'll dizzy your opponent, and can perform a wrestling move on them for MASSIVE DAMAGE. Remember not to hit them too many times when they're dizzy though or you'll cancel the stun and they'll go back to blocking your attacks again.Last edited by MattyD; 29-03-2008, 21:31.

Was looking forward this this, sounded fun.
I should have known better, there is something I can't stand about some Japanese games, this seems to hit all those buttons.
I'll forgive the visuals, being a Wii title, but it really does come over as being style over substance. A constant stream of dumb ass foes to be dispatched with an 'innovative' method. Yup, press up/left/right/down to finish them off. Wooot.
I can see why some of you would like this, mucha s I can see the attraction of Marmite. It's just not for me.
I'm better off sticking to Western FPS's and driving games. :-)

The opening couple of lines from the review cracked me up, I could have written it myself.
- "Most gamers these days are jaded souls. Whether they have been playing games for a few months or twenty years, it soon becomes clear that certain genres dominate the scenery. Driving games, FPS’s, football games, etc."
This line too, must have been reading my mind!
-
"Thankfully, No More Heroes is less of a Marmite experience than Suda 51’s previous Killer 7."
