I don't feel like sifting through the Freeloader topics, but will the USA version run on a PAL system with Freeloader?
    It does

I'm not usually a graphic whore but I find myself completely unable to see past the ****e visuals of NMH. I think it just looks like total gash. I played for about half an hour but got no enjoyment from it at all.

Loved the game but have to agree. Visually it's sub PS2.

Its not sub ps2. Its PS2.
Great game, like the fantastic Killer7 it has no replay value to speak of. Which is a shame, i hope it gets a sequel though. I want to see more of Travis Touchdown.

I thought the art direction on some of the characters made it visually more interesting than the rest of the game. Its all about the characters and not about the backdrop. Did not affect my (MASSIVE) enjoyment of the game one little bit.

You know it's supposed to look **** to reflect Travis's myopic, self-centered, Otaku-ish perspective of the world, right? RIGHT?

Actually, I have to disagree – the graphics in parts are of a PS1 standard. I thought it was a little uglier than I expected when I started the game the other day, but I put this down to spending a lot of time recently on the 360 and the low saturation on my TV. But then I played the bike section for the first time; it's shockingly bad! It resembles Driver 2 very closely – and I've played that within the last couple of years, so it's not rose-tinted spectacles.

However, the graphics are of a reasonable standard the moment you get off you bike and start walking around. One last thing to be said on the subject is that I just finished playing OoT recently – a game renowned for having aged poorly in the graphics department – and that was a pleasant surprise compared to this.

I really disliked the opening section of the game. I really hate it when a game has complicated controls and lays them all out in a list at the beginning. By the time you get to the meat of the game you've forgotten all the nuances and find the whole experience underwhelming and bewildering.

Just broke free and tried a couple side-mission and found them relievingly enjoyable. It's like a sort of bonkers Shenmue.

I was happy the tutorial was quick, you just need to dive in for 5 minutes to understand the controls (that are pretty logical after playing for 10minutes anyway) and then you can continue with the game. I really dislike tutorial screens popping up all over the game when I'm really getting into it, so I'm happy they chose to do it this way.

The game is great, I purchased it last week and am smashing my way to 5th position tonight (hopefully). Does the difficulty go up because up until now I've only had problems with 3rd boss. The game does have a pretty repetitive structure that I can understand a lot of people don't like. If it wasn't for the witty cut-scenes I think I wouldn't plough through them either.

Just finished this. Awesome stuff! I think the game's strength is just its shear variety. Although, it obviously lacks in some areas, particularly the graphics in the backgrounds which only serves to emphasise the repetition of some activities. I enjoyed it in spite of these drawbacks though, and definitely recommend it.

played this up to the 4th confrontation and then stopped playing it... really enjoyed the actual fighting but the stuff inbetween was kind of dull. think i will have to give it some more attention sometime before the next installment comes out.

Just been playing the JPN PS3 version of No More Heroes, initial thoughts below:

The HD graphics whilst a welcome upgrade aren't that great, with frame drops when you pan the camera around especially in the the first bosses mansion. When riding through the city theres quite a few cases of Tree pop up with some building textures being blurry whilst others are sharp, giving the game a somewhat unfinished look.

Bike handling seems to be worse than the Wii version, left and right controls are not sensitive enough and it does feel like controlling a tank resulting in a lot of crashed lamposts. Speaking of lamposts I managed to get the bike stuck in one and coudn't free so had to walk the rest of the way to my destination. They've added in smoke effects from the bikes tyres which obscures the bottom of the screen and some additional flames exhaust.

Controls on the joypad is not bad, but dislike pushing in the R3 L3 control sticks to activate the finishing moves in combat. This is one game which would benefit from Playstation Move support. As with all Japanese PS3 games the action button is O instead of X and remains so even when playing on a UK PS3.

Load times are borderline acceptable just about... but there seem to be a bit too many of them, especially when exiting and entering a room, load times seems slower than the Wii version in terms of loading. No HD install option to speed up (hopefully in the upcoming patch?)

Can't remember if the Wii version allowed you to rewatch cut scenes, but on the PS3 version its there along with the trailer.

Voices are in English but text is Japanese in game, apart from the English menu options.

Unlocked two trophies so far, and theres a ton of them waiting to be unlocked - descriptions all in Japanese

Feel that the PS3 version needed a few more months of polishing before it was released.
