I thought a western release was almost guaranteed, surely?

I started the 360 version last night - rather mixed impressions, I must say. Still love the game to bits, but the load times seem rather bloated to say the least, finishing moves aren't quite as fun as before, and there's no Heavenly Star
There seems to be quite a lot of options for replaying missions though which is a good thing!

Some of the menus are, yes, but there is still plenty of in-game text that is still in Japanese, including tutorials, mission descriptions etc. It's pretty much the same as the J-Wii one in that respect, other than now you've got the option of Japanese speech too and as such the lip movements match with that regardless of which language voice you go for. There may be some headscratching moments but even with 0 J-skills you'll be fine

Hm. I loved the Wii version despite it's flaws, and whilst I wasn't expecting miracles I at least wanted this to be the definitive version of the game - and sadly it isn't. Even post-install, the load times are some of the worst I've ever seen on the 360, and I am not usually a man to moan about these things but they really jar - every time you go into Santa Destroy you're looking at a minute or so of loading. Despite the controls now being waggle-free there are new issues, like some menus jumping two options rather than one whenever you press a direction, and in some fight situations the usage of the right stick still seems to effect the camera when in reality you're just trying to do a finishing move. Graphics are nicer in places, yes, but it also further highlights where you've got ropey textures - worst example of which I've seen so far being the cash point, with it's almost incomprehensible text and blurry brick texture wall. Playing the uncensored version with the correct cut scenes and blood is a plus, but at the same time this is traded off against Heavely Star - not saying I'd rather have it the other way, and I do actually like some of the replacement tunes they use in the shops (digging the metal spin on the theme quite a lot, actually), but it's just another little niggle. To top it off, it crashed out on me completely earlier and lost about 40 minutes of play (and about 10 minutes of loading).
I'm still enjoying playing this again as it's still an ace game, but for those who are on the fence about paying over the odds for it, I would hold fire - see if a US/EU version emerges, if there's a price drop, or hell, even wait to see if the next patch fixes anything.

One thing I noticed on the loading sceen, is that you can bounce the spinning loading star up and down by pressing the action O button, and it changes colour, no idea what it does though!
Agree about some of the textures, some of them don't load on the buildings/billboards until your right next to them, pretty terrible
It would have been nice to have the 360 uncensored version with the decapitations and blood for the PS3 version, but not too bothered either way.
Must say when I briefly loaded up the Wii version a few days ago, the difference in PQ was quite jarring. Only got to
Dr Peace
on the Wii as i was holding out for this version, so am enjoying playing and experiencing NMH very much. Would be nice of you could enter more of the buildings on the map.
Fingers crossed NMH2 will be released if NMH1 360/PS3 is a success

360 No More Heros really is pretty bad for loading plus it seems random. The first time I did the true ending it took over 2 minutes to load while the 2nd time round it only took about 40 seconds. I do enjoy the game and the pervert "sweet mode" is also nice but that loading........ Still, I have completed it twice now or 3 times if I include the Wii version and I' ll still try and do it on "bitter" level so it can't be that bad of a game.

Started playing this recently.
I love the game but the loading is trying my patience!
It literally takes 1 min to load the main city so in the 7 hours I?ve been playing I would say I?ve spent at least 45 mins sitting watching load screens!
I did an Assassination last night ? around 1 min to load the assassination, played for 30s, failed, spent about 1 min loading the main city to walk 2 feet to the icon to load the assassination again. That?s nigh on 3 mins loading for 30 seconds of play!
It?s just really not good enough!
Like Fuse said I was hoping for a definitive version of this game as I have been dying to play it ever since I first saw it on Wii, but TBH this just feels like a cheap port.

The idea that TheNewMonkey is 20 hours in and is only half way through was a theory I was thinking was going to happen...And scared the hell out of me!
