Dunno if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I just played the Winning Eleven 2009 demo on the Playstation 3 and it had English text in it. Is this a first?

Anyway if the game is any better it might be worth picking up thanks to no language barriers. I don't think it had the Champions League license though.

There is prob an option like in WE2008 to change the language to English or Japanese.

Does anyone know what happened to WENB site its been down for a while - has it been closed down?

I was looking for an updated option file, anyhow I stumbled across another option file that is supposedly heaps better and even includes some decent chants if anyone else is interested, here

The new update definitely seems to have improved the flow of the game I had a blast against Barca earlier really enjoyed the match maybe its just me I mean its been a while since I last played it.

Edit : I went ahead and downloaded and installed the Von option file & I think I much prefer it although takes for ever to install. The chants are actually quite good and help to create a live match atmosphere, if you can't be bothered to install the whole thing you can just install the chants using these steps

There is chant file for every premiership team and also one for England

1. Copy MUSIC folder to flash drive.
2. Go to music on PS3 and select USB device
3. Copy all chants over
4. Create a playlist entitled KONAMI_PES
5. Add all chants to playlist
6. Enter game, go to edit mode, edit team and cheering stance. You should find your chants here

I picked up the 360 version of this last week for online and I have to say it is truly awful. I didn't think 2008 was as bad as some made out, but what I have experienced online is truly appalling. What are others experience's with the 360 version online?

Hopes the online improves for WE2009. I think there is more chance of gold falling from the sky though.

I feel well and truly ripped off with this online and that is the main reason I bought it. Konami will not be getting anymore of my money.

Fifa online is decent but I dont like the game, I dont think I'll be playing a footy game for a year at this rate. Im going to trade this is for Dead space I think

I'm liking the core gameplay of this, online does suck though, my main gripe is with the massive stadium shadows, I know its realistic but in half the grounds you can't see teams that play in dark shirts making it really hard, its really annoying me as in the league you can't set the weather or time of day conditions.

I wont be playing any footy titles at all this year too. Both this and FIFA havent really grabbed me.

I cant believe the online side of things is soooooo fecked on this, like last year. My mate bought this with the sole intention of playing his mates online, lol, what a bad joke that's turned out to be! This is also mightily similar to last year's game in look and feel, and dont get me started on the out of date kits and squads. To me this is as cynical as EA re-hashing the same old crap FIFA games from a few years back..........

Speaking of FIFA, at least FIFA 09 has decent online play, despite being arguably a less refined game, and suffering from a few faults of its own.
