I will give online a try again. If it doesn't satisfy me, it shall be traded in for Mirror's Edge this coming week. If I do trade it in, will be the second year in a row I traded in a PES before the new one was out.

Yeah, if you have no local mates to play with, past the single player modes there's not much point, unless they sort it.

Yeah online is the main hook for me. Don't really get mates coming over to play it as we just play online so if that department of the game isn't fully or properly functional the game is no use to me.

Maybe advertise for friends in your local paper

Is that you asking for an invite around my place then?

Anyone got the PSP version yet?

update version 1.2 up on ps3, it adds a download option to your system settings and I'm now sitting here watching a big roster of teams/squads coming down very slowly.

hoping it doesn't wipe out the WENB patch I stuck on.

It's downloading really quickly for me. It's not been up long so I chose not to use P2P downloading.

It mentions that updated kits will be lost.

I seem to have kept all the WENB file settings, I chose yes when it asked if i wanted to overwrite the settings file so it seems to have merged them.

seems to scramble the starting 11s around a bit though. berba and robinho not in the first teams and arsenal went all over the place, I had ramsay and wilshire in the starting team !

From what I've read elsewhere it seems that you just lose the option file customisations for the teams for the teams that were updated in this one. Not checked it yet though.

From what I've read, the patch isn't 100% correct with the rosters - no afroman aka fellini at Everton for example. I also read that the patch speeds up the pace of the game apparently!

There are only a few minor transfer omissions, Fellini being the main one. Other than that it's a great update to be fair. Coupled with the WENB option file (which the update doesn't adversely affect, fortunately) and custom music & chants it's like having a patched game
The update only seems to provide cosmetic changes, the speed hasn't been messed with thankfully.

Online aside, i'm loving this version; it's the best Pro Evo/Winning Eleven since WE10 in my opinion. Scoring so many different types of goals on this, and same room multiplayer is revealing so many subtle improvements over previous versions

i was wondering if I was imagnining it had sped up, my first thoughts were it felt zippier but everytime they release something I'm convinced its all changed.

Dunno if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I just played the Winning Eleven 2009 demo on the Playstation 3 and it had English text in it. Is this a first?

Anyway if the game is any better it might be worth picking up thanks to no language barriers. I don't think it had the Champions League license though.

we 2008 was in english too for much of it (maybe all actually). Reads it from the xmb setting.

                                Is it different to pes?
