Ah so he turned on you because you were asking around about him / confronted him? I'm not sure if you can ever go back to Underworld. I think people will eventually forget certain crimes but maybe not killing someone. I can't say as I didn't go around upsetting the wastelanders

As for Dukov's party girls, I did escort one of them to Rivet City but all I got was a karma boost IIRC. No special items or whatever. The quest is timed at five in-game days, after which you can't ever complete the quest. Sounds like you lucked out, but you didn't lose anything significant.

Sydney's gift is a known exploit BTW. You can just keep doing it and getting loads of presents if you want!

MattyD you are like a fountain of Fallout 3 knowledge!

So you MUST know when DLC will be available for the PS3 right? GOTY maybe?

I met Ryan Briggs for the first time last night and err killed him. Not heard anything about him before. Initially i wanted to befriend him, but the bast was hostile!

@ MattyD - have i ran the risk on missing some potential plot, by offing the dude 'too early'?

I've never even heard of that guy. Or at least I can't remember. I did put a silly amount of hours into this though, I think somewhere in the region of 60-80. Just goes to show how big the game really is!

I've found a fair few named NPCs on my travels who seemed to be hostile for no reason.

I'm wondering if it's another insance of karma causing different reactions.

I dunno about the karma thing, but Ryan Briggs was in the Jury Street Station underground - he found a way of making Mole Rat meat taste good apparently. By mincing mole rat meat and super glue together it made the meat more ahem 'palpable.'

I SO want to see everything, or atleast 90% of things in the game. Best £17.99 Ive ever spent on a game thats for sure! Definatley my GOTY If only the DLC was available on the PS3, id be on it for the whole year lol!

Im amazed at how big the game is too! Its like it was in development for AGES to get all this content in, and executed so well too!

Yeah I know the guy you mean. I'm pretty sure I read elsewhere that the guy offers you a repeatable fetch quest (for Wonderglue I think) if you have Bad or Neutral karma.

Did anybody listen to the talk about this game on ListenUp this week? It's towards the end of the show and I found it unbelievably frustrating! I can't be the only person who has been able to accept the fact that this isn't a shooter and approach it accordingly.

well i dont See it as a shooter at all really the real time part of the combat is not as precise as in games like call of duty....i wish it was close to it though but with all the stats and everything not sure if they could ...but have learnt to accept it...and the vats system makes up for that anyway

If anything I wanted to be able to rely fully on the VATS system, which would have given the game an even more strategic edge. I appreciate why they didn't though, and I think they've hit a nice balance.

I've a quick question for those that have dowloaded the two existing DLC sections. Anchorage occurs in a VR environment which I assume can happen during an existing save, but how does it work with the Pitt? Can you move between DC and the Pitt and how does it fit in with your save? Can you do it and go back to the main quest?

On that subject how do you think the Broken Steel pack will work? From what I can see you won't be able to access it until you have finished the game due it it's placement 2 weeks after the end of the main story arc. I'd be worried that I would have to complete the game to play the DLC and once it was done i wouldn't then be able to go back around the DC ruins and do any side quests. Anyone care to speculate?

                        Comment

You definately cannot go back to the VR anchorage once you've completed it. You can go back to the pitt whenever you like once you've completed that though which is quite useful since

it has an awesome ammo creation type machine thingy in there.

Apart from that there doesn't seem to be much else to do in the Pitt once completed, but its nice to have the choice of being able to go back there.

Broken Steel must mean you have to do the last story mission in the main fallout 3. Then instead of a end game fmv it'll just carry on as normal, maybe a short 'two weeks later' fade or something. According to a few interviews I've read, this will change DC a bit so it would seem once you complete the main quest and start Broken steel than, yeah, you may not be able to go back to the original unless you start a new game.

Thanks for the info, I've seen on other forums people saying that they lost items when going into the pitt for the first time? They went to the Pitt tooled up, had to drop lots of stuff to gather the new gear and there was no secure locker to drop it so they lost it. Would it be advisable to enter the Pitt area with zero equipment?

Can't say I ever really noticed losing anything yet, but to be safe I'd stash any special/important or really good stuff in DC, just in case, since the DLC for Fallout is super buggy anyway.

Anyone else had trouble installing the Broken Steel DLC on PC? Just downloaded it and it gives me some Hex error message when trying to install O_o I tried googling it but that didnt help.

Guess i'll try downloading it again.
