The maps with tanks in them make it easier to maintain a high K/D ratio. Just jump in a tank and be careful and you're pretty-much invincible.
Even against good players its easy to rack up an impressive K/D spread when you have a tank, but if there's some n00bs in the game who keep coming after you convinced that their SMG is doing damage...its almost a shame to keep pwning them. Almost

If you are playing against a team that know what they are doing then getting into a tank is madness. Many a time I've jumped into a tank and be blown up by rockets and grenades in mere seconds.

Grenades really don't do much damage to the tanks. You are better off with your smg than a grenade, but even better just avoid the tanks!

There is that special grneade though isnt there, that decimates the tank in one hit? i have a class made just for maps with tanks, im sure players who have been playing for a while do the same!

I think so. I just don't bother fighting tanks unless I'm in one myself.

Just finished the single player and while its a decent Call of Duty game...that rock music was REALLY out of place. Other than the annoying rock music I quite enjoyed it, then again I've enjoyed all the CoD's

I don't understand everyones problem with the music. The way you guys were going on I expected Slayer to be playing in the backgrond, but instead it was tasteful operatic music with a touch of guitar more along the lines of a toned down Nightwish or Rammstein. I thought the soundtrack perfectly suited the game.

The main problem is that the COD series has always done a good job of immersing you within the battles you are fighting, but its hard to really feel like youre in WWII when theres modern style rock music playing in the background. So to say the music is perfectly suited to the game is a bit off the mark IMO and ruined the atmosphere of the game slightly.

Modern rock music? as apposed to a modern orchestral score?

I never even noticed what you were complaining about, i was too busy being enraged by the game tbh.

Been playing a lot of this online. While not quite as fine tuned as COD4, it's still better than anything else out there. Unusually for an xbox live fps, most of the American players I encounter seem to be decent, with the British making up the 'twat' contingent.

Last night I was playing team deathmatch, and in my team were 3 Brits who obviously knew each other. They were chatting on their headsets, and started saying that they hoped that someone would kill me, as I 'stole' their kill! It's a fricking team deathmatch and he was about to get wiped out by a prone soldier.

They were also moaning about players running around levels. Why is there so much people who declare they are great at online games then whinge because they can't win? COD WAW (and COD4) seem to especially attract this type of player. People whinge about 'Juggernoob', 'Noob tubes', bouncing betty mines, sub machine gun users, tank users, campers, second chance users, and martyerdom users, to scrape the tip of the iceberg.

If it's a perk that the makers have out in then it's fine. If it's a weapon they have put in it's fine. Goodness knows what these people would be like in a real war. "He's wearing body armour, thats not fair!" "His gun is bigger than mine!" It seems if something doesn't fit in with their own style of play (usually adopted from another FPS such As Halo), then it's branded cheating or seen as less skilled.

Talking of people using tactics from other games, nothing is as funny as seeing people jumping to avoid fire (as in Halo, Unreal, Quake etc) and just falling to the ground dead.

It's funny how those that whinge the loudest NEVER finish top of the table.........

A bit of a rant, but good to get it down!

I finished the campaign on this earlier this evening and I have to say that I was very impressed. Like all the WW2 COD games the Russian missions were the best by far, but the change of venue for the American ones made it fresh enough to not feel as overdone as most games like this.

The highlights were all Russian, though. I loved the

first sniper mission in St Petersburg

and the final two were mind-blowing in their scale. That epic battle across

                        the plaza outside the Reichstag

, and then things inside like seeing the

                        tower collapse in

as you climb the stairs towards the roof. I wouldn't like to do those missions on Veteran, though

I didn't think it was in as bad taste as I'd heard... until

                        Nazi Zombies

. It did seem a bit odd to tack that on immediately after the credits without warning, and while I don't have a problem with it on principle - I love the Wolfenstein games, after all - do we really want that in a game that's attempting to tell a serious story about WW2?

I finished this on Veteran a couple of days ago and thought the last two levels were the hardest. I found 3 was the hardest and was so frustrating I gave up on Vet and I think 4 was easier than 2, although both were tough, but WaW is by far the easiest Vet so far.

I got stuck on the last mortar team trying to get past the bit with the hole in the roof of the tunnel until I realised I was getting shot at by a couple of enemies on the surface.

I found the best course of action throughout the game was to hang back and take out as many enemies as possible and then push forward to make your AI allies move forward and trigger the next spawn point and then fall back so I could assess the situation. This basically worked throughout the entire campaign after trying various things at some of the harder checkpoints. I would just run back whenever a million grenade markers would appear on the screen, which was most of the game!

I wouldn't say it was the easiest for veteran, it was the most unfair, certainly. The amount of grenades at times was ridiculous.
