It's stupid IW haven't patched in an auto boot. I don't play WaW in hardcore, but CoD4's full of idiots, even in that mode.

I just logged on Cod5 today to find an update for me and the Download Maps was highlighted again but there wasn't any new maps to download? Is map pack 3 coming out early or something?

I noticed that as well.

They've moved the Nazi Zombies mode into its own menu option accessible off the main menu (it used to be under co-op campaign)... and now the download maps icon is highlighted.

Hmmm...

Hello!

I'm looking for a new co-op experience, and I think CoD:WaW might be the game I'm looking for.

I've got a few questions though:
1. How many players in story co-op?
2. I heard you can't save co-op progress, is this true still or has it been patched?
3. If you can't save, can you select a start level or point?
4. Is the Zombie mode any cop and do you still have to complete the story to unlock?
5. Can Zombie mode be unlocked by completing it in co-op?
6. How young can you die of old age?
7. If you are in a spaceship that is traveling at the speed of light, and you turn on the headlights, does anything happen?

2. No idea, but you don't unlock some achievements in co-op mode.
3. You can.
4. Its good fun, yes. You can't host a game until you've personally unlocked it, but you can play with others who have. That's how it was before all the updates and map packs anyway.
5. Dunno.
6. No idea.
7. An object with mass (like a spaceship) cannot travel at the speed of light.

The new map pack is awesome.

All three MP maps are good with Revolution being one that stands out as an absolute classic for me. The new zombie map is also rather excellent. Its much larger than you expect and the pack a punch weapon upgrades will make you grin, I guarantee it.

Well worth the MS points.

While the game is still 50% off on Steam, I better ask this. Is the game a good single player? All I've played of this is the Nazi Zombie level on co-op, which I enjoyed.

If you're keen on the single-player campaign in other games in the series, then you'll also like this as its more of the same. Quality-wise, its not as good as CoD4, but not as bad as CoD3. The German levels are the best.

You can't save your progress in any level. When you exit the level and go back into it you start from the beginning I believe.

It does however save your levels completed so you can always level select. There is one mission that cannot be played in coop, an on rails shooter section, but the game just continues past it.

Originally coop wouldn't unlock the Nazi Zombie mode (which is coop) but I believe the game has been patched so that it is unlocked from the start. The zombie mode is fantastic and worth the price of entry alone. NTSC-UK has a review here (by yours truly).
