Moreover, you don't have to go up there for that jump. When the person jumps (at 5:08) to the other beam, they then jump onto another platform. You can simply reach that platform by wallrunning the opposite wall from the lower area, doing a quick turn and jumping, iirc. (L1, R1, L1 on the PS3.)
As Miguel says, there's always more than one way up, and the difficult jumps are for speedrunning.

Re: that part, I would just continue that wallrun where he turns and jumps off and just carry on to the next stoney platform thing and then after landing jump and wallrun to the next set of platforms. The atrium time trials are all set there and it's actually much harder getting down quickly as opposed to going up...

Apologies for double post, but a friend picked these up for me yesterday...
... and they're quite good! Better than I was expecting anyway, but ever since the Castlevania IDW incident my expectations have been somewhat sub-par. They tell a lot of the backstory to the game - Faith becoming a runner, her and Kate's life with their parents etc. I appreciate people aren't playing the game for the story but still worth picking up if you're a fan

Afraid so - had the same problem myself. Whenever my connection dropped I would jump out of time trials and so speed runs instead. At least that way if I did a good one of those I'd get the achievement and then wasn't so fussed about it being stored on the EA server or not.
Don't suppose anyone's got any juicy info on when this month we can expect the DLC?

Awesome game too I should add, but like far too many games this gen way too short.
I find I'm enjoying the time trials much more than the campaign. Though trying to shave milliseconds from times is often as frustrating as is satisfying it's inescapably addictive and, in a sense, reminds me of the games of yesterday that required skill and patience in equal measure. Not downloaded any ghosts yet and am trying to figure out how to 3 star all the courses by myself but, at 43 stars, am now struggling. Not sure I have the patience to tackle those speed runs mind.

I'm about half way through this and I'm loving and hating it in equal measures. I love the style, the fluidity and how it tries to do something different in an over crowed genre. I hate the trial and error gameplay and the flaky inconsistent combat. When it works it is some of the most majestic gaming experiences I've ever had...then BAM! I hit some annoying section that sees me being shot to ribbons by a helicopter or some armoured dudes. I really hope to god they follow it up, as my money is on it being frickin' genius.
