I'm saving up for the mini gun at the mo...I love using the handcannn and the automatic shotgun for those high combos, but just for sheer red, gory madness i'm sure the mini-gun will satisfy

    - Out of interest, does anyone know when sale figures will surface for this? I've seen it's been ranking high in the charts (which is a great reflief), but it'll be interesting to see the actual numbers. I get a cheeky little feeling this'll be a steady climber too :-)

Got the Hand Cannon today, dosent seem to be as acurate as I thoiught it would be though, I think its becuase the game takes half a second or so to actualy catch up with whear you are aiming. It is clearly made to play with the crosshair on.

One thing I have discovered about the hand cannon though is that the barrel is actualy long enough that you can hold it like a shotgun, which makes me want to go out and get House Of The Dead 3 on the Wii now .

Just got this as it was £17 in Gamestation and I'm loving it. Much more forgiving than the arcade ones and better for it. The cut scenes are really funny and the levels are just about the right length.

There are irritations though: when going for combos it doesn't always seem to register hits on 'dead' enemies as a hit (losing your combo if you hit one as it's falling) and the animation stutters causing you to miss.

It also gets a huge de-merit for being a dark game with no brightness setting. I can't adjust my TV's brightness any higher and playing dark games on it gives me eye strain (I can barely see axes). Having enemies half off the screen is a pain too considering you reload if you shoot 'offscreen' (which usually results in losing a life).

Dumb question, maybe, but have you got 'free look' enabled? It allows you to scroll a little left and right when enemies sneak up on the edges of screen (and also help you to pick up sneaky bonuses/power-ups hidden away out there).

yep, they're still only usually half on the screen though, even when the screen scrolls (you couldn't hit them if it didn't). It may be that the game crops the edges in 4:3 mode (which is incredibly stupid for this kind of game).

I'm on my 2nd copy and neither works, anyone else had this trouble?

woo just got back into this, forgot how fantastic it is. that last conversation between g and washington is gold!

ive hit a snag though, there doesnt seem to be enough money in the game. ive finished everything, got all the achievments etc except the buy all weapons - and now theres no more money to buy the weapons. i get a couple of hundred from beating a high score, but when something like the minigun itself costs $15k, thats going to be a lot of grinding

I ordered this from Simply Games for £12 the other day and I've been playing it in short sweet bursts but it's one of those rare games which actually makes you laugh out loud.

Very funny and quite fun to play too, for an on-rails shooter. I was instantly drawn in with the opening menu music saying "It's ****ing delicious" and then leads on to so many other insane quotes.

The only issue I have with the game is that it stutters every now and then during gameplay which is quite off putting when 4-5 Zo.. Mutants are coming at you. Does anyone else get this problem? I figured it's because i'm the wrong resolution but I can't be arsed to change it.

Yeah everyone does. Its the main problem of the game imo, but you get use to it after awhile.

It's a great game. Best rails shooter i've played in years.
I bought a copy off here a couple of months back and had a good couple of weeks of pretty solid play from it.

They completely got right the upgrading and feel of the weapons. It was just fab fun upgrading your guns and replaying each level to see how much better the improvements are each time. The Directors Cut and extra zombie modes were a great addition and added even more replay value from what is usually a very casual and short experience.

I picked up a Hand cannon soon after i started playing which added more than i thought (despite it just being a plastic shell). Just felt right and seemed in context with the on-screen lol-action.

The frame rate is pretty bad, especially later on. On a couple of occasions the train level dropped to about 5fps especially for the boss fight. I also had a couple of times when the zombies failed to load in and was stuck in an area as there was nothing to hit so it wouldn't move me on. I generally put the buggyness down to the whole Grindhouse vibe tbh (never sure if it was intentional, poor programming, the hardware or all of the above).

Hope it did enough sales-wise for a sequel. Although i must admit at times i wished i was playing a really messed-up gore packed Hi-def 360/PS3 version.

tried this today using my Wii gun but, even after calibration, i get no respone at all in the lower TV screen. can anybody please advise me how set up the Wii remote here?

Increase the sensitivity in the wii system menu is your best bet.

positioning the sensor bar in front of the TV dit it for me, it was sitting on top before. the aim still slightly off and sluggish but maybe this is just the game as i have the feeling the it's struggling with some hefty performance issues.

have to say the game is fantastic. there's lots of zombie heads to splatter, some f*cktastic humor and a very nice presentation. and the music is fitting and nice to listen to. just can't play this any longer than 30 minutes otherwise my right hand begins to ache.

Just finished this. Little bit surprised it ended when it did, but it was perfectly formed as long as it lasted. The developers really managed something surprisingly intelligent with this work – and there is no better example of this than the final cut-scene. This is an excellent example of out-sourcing, up there with Nintendo's success with F-Zero/Sega and Metroid/Retro Studios.

The only way I can get this to be accurate is sitting 15 feet away and then I can berely see the screen.

When I sit any closer the aim calibration is miles of.

I find the wii mote on it's own horrible to play with due to angle in forces your wrist into. I've been using a gun attachment and trying to play looking down the barrel. Because it's not actually a real gun game should I just keep both eyes open and point "underarm"?

It's very annoying and I can see the game is excellent but the accuracy is killing it for me.
