Played through Lost In Nightmares earlier, took me about an hour on normal.
Cant say I was that impressed, the first half is basicaly just some cheap kind of fan service, its like playing the mansion bit of the first RE game but without enemies in it. You also wonder why Chris and Jill never thought about how the design of the place was almost identical to the last mansion they were in together.
The second half was more fun, but still couldnt help feel that it was lacking somthing, I dont know where all these raitings of 9/10 and statements like "capcom are back on form" are comming from at all really.Last edited by rmoxon; 26-02-2010, 01:54.

He does. Jill also mentions that the place looks familiar.
It's a wonderful piece of DLC. Myself and Paulos played through on Professional and it was extremely tense, especially in the "Crank" section. It's nice to see the Resi team haven't forgotten how to put scares in there, and shows that a "traditional" Biohazard can work even with the change of pace that's been in place since number four. It's also great that an older title is being supported with such quality stuff. I'm looking forward to next weeks installment.

Oh yeah, did everyone else get the terrible screen tear?

Ayway dosent alter the fact that it all felt pretty unimaginative to me. Guess its an easy way to make some quick money for the developer.. like most DLC really.
It was lacking a proper inventory system and any bits where you push crates/objects too, two staples of the older games. For a homage it was lazy really and as a new experience deffinitley dosent cut it as its so short and there isnt much there.
A good idea for capcom would have been when they released the gold edition to actualy insert this into the main game during the bit where you have the flashback. Not sure if an hour long flashback would work at that section of the game, its been a while so I forget where it comes, but it would have worked better than it does as a stand alone experience and would have probabaly got them some extra sales of the gold edition to boot.Last edited by rmoxon; 26-02-2010, 10:05.

Had already done a couple of playthroughs on Lost in Nightmares and thought I knew the score. Tried it on Veteran, not realising this meant there would be enemies in the mansion too. First appearance of one was just as the anchor landed in my head as I went round a corner. Nearly **** myself.

See, I'm gonna have an unpopular opinion here but I thought it was pretty poor DLC now I've completed it.
First attempt took me 50 minutes on normal from which I got an S-Rank.
That wouldn't have bothered me if they hadn't said 1-2 hours with no saves...which (especially the "no saves part") led me to believe it would be fairly substantial and long.
I enjoyed the first part of it the most, direct homage and just like playing an old Resi game with Hi-Def visuals.
I'm 50/50 as to wether I'll buy the next one, but I do slightly regret going and rebuying the game for the DLC.
