The answer is no! A bit dumb of me for buying the U.K DLC thinkin it would work as it`s Resident Evil and the Japanese version is Biohazard. Still disappointed though. Resident Evil 5 dlc does not work with Biohazard 5. 3.99 wasted on my part PS3/Playstation 3.

Just finished my first playthrough of Deperate Escape on Normal. Two Words: AWE SOME! Really enjoyed it. Shall say nothing more for fear of spoilers.

Lost in Nightmares was a little disappointing, if it wasn't for the cheap price i couldn't really recommend it. just few enemies, boring first half, lame boss fight. is Desperate Escape any better?

I really enjoyed Lost in Nightmares, much like I thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil 5.

Played it with a mate via online co-op and there was one a occasion where he almost crapped himself. The developers still know how to create those pure panic moments, love it. The puzzle at the end was pretty cool aswell. Well worth the 400 Microsoft points.

Definitely going to pick up Desperate Escape and, once again, play through it with a mate via online co-op.

LIN and DE and quite different. DE is

much more action oriented. Lots of enemies.

            Spoilered just in case.

It seems that you have to unlock the 2 chapters when you have Alternative Edition.

Which is a chore because you have to play quite a bit of the main game to do so, and I suddenly remember how awful it was.. I mean, that AI... I'd rather kill her myself and go alone.

LiN's there to play after beating 3-1 though. And I find LiN to be rather good, easily better than the whole lot of that crapfest called RE5.

Do you mean the JPN retail disc of Alternative Edition? I have 100% complete Biohazard 5 save data, does it carry over to Alternative or will I need to play the entire Biohazard 5 story again?
                Kept you waiting, huh?

Should carry over I think. I need to buy Alternative edition now. Tradin in Biohazard 5, SFIV, Winning Eleven 2008, 2009.

If your Alternative is from the same region, you're good to go.

But I had PAL RE5, and now Asian Biohazard Alternative (which is pretty cool, with both Japan and English booklets and the cover is dual printed for those 2 languages too). But the matter is that I've deleted my saves long ago anyway. So i'm bound to finish the game first for everything to appear.

Should've started on easy, trophy list for this game is the same anyway so I get nothing yet (did manage to get the Drive By trophy though ;D).

Hope you finish it soon mate and get those extra ep. Cheers for the asian vers info.

Yep bought Alternative Edition Japanese. I find it pretty dumb the way I have to finish Resi 5 alone to unlock the other extra ep. I completed it with someone online but apparently this is not enough!?! So gotta complete Chapter 6-2 and 6-3 on my own. So can`t be bothered. On a posative though enjoyed chapter 6-1, but this game more and more is not Resident Evil. The first extra ep Lost in blah blah is amazing though, has lots of atmosphere and tension and feels more like the whole of Resident Evil 5 should have been. Guessing the other extra episode will be also dripping with atmosphere.

It`s as if Capcom dropped the ball with Resi 5 and then realised it, and released the extra chapters which are so much better. I feels Lost in blah blah and the other chapter should have been how Resi 5 played or they should have gone with the mist chasing Leon. I predicted Resi would go this way after Resi 3 but then, Resi 4 changed it all and it was brilliant. I`m sure Resi 6 will be more like Resi 4 and the extra chapters with Alternative edition.

My JPN R2 Alternative just arrived. I have 100% complete Biohazard 5 save data and trophies, so anybody who plays online with me should get instant access to the newer stuff. This is how it worked with weaponry last time around anyway. I'll be on as of 17:30 this evening.

Well this is the biggest **** over ever.

I put in the Alternative disc, and after installing 6GB it tells me that as I already have Biohazard 5 save data I need to "upgrade" to Version 2.00 save data, and that I will not lose anything I already have.

I say no at first, but then it warns me that unless I upgrade then I will not be able to save. I hit O, and it does it's thing.

Upon starting the game it is as though I have NEVER played before. I have access to the Warrior and Business outfits from the off, but I have no weapons and I am forced to start from the Prologue.

"Aha" I think. I'll just put in my regular Biohazard 5 disc and it'll think I have got the DLC. I get some warning about the Version 2.00 save data and hit O. Then when I start the game I get a screen telling me that all of the "Alternative" extras have been added to my save, which is the DLC like I thought.

Upon starting the game again I am back at square one! No weapons and I'm forced to start at the Prologue.

Basically now whatever disc I use I get the same game/content, despite there being two seperate saves for each game in the Biohazard 5 folder. I can't even play any of the new stuff until I unlock it by playing the regular game.

No way I'm 100%ing the game again.

One other thing. If anybody has the R2 Biohazard 5 disc, I can give you all the DLC for free. All you need do is send me a memory card that my 60GB unit can write to.

Hey mate can`t read all of it on page 6 of the manual, but it basically says the same as what the PS3 tells you when you update, as far as the Japanese I can gather in the manual. You should not lose your data when it is overwritten by the 2.0 data.

Case in point when I did the 2.0 update I had 2 save data files one for Biohazard 5 and the other for Biohazard 5 2.0 update. You should not have lost yr data. My save data was from Biohazard 5 and I was on chapter 6-2 when I updated. Check down the bottom of yr savedata lists with all yr game saves in. It may be at the bottom. Make sure you have the right name account signed in too mate else it won`t find it. Hope you ain`t lost yr data , it should not have done anything to it. Sorry it`s locked else I`d happily send you my data somehow.

Reading yr post on the Resi thread not sure what the hell happened to yr data. It should have not over written and wiped it (confused). Are u sure yr Biohazard 5 and Alternative are both Def Japanese ones. Not Asian is it? My Biohazard does not recognise Euro or American saves. I picked yes when it upgraded my data to 2.0. I am convinced you should still have two separate save datas. Delete the Gamedata 5gb or whatever it is see if that helps you can reinstall the 2.0 update. If worst comes to the worst and I have time if I can copy the save data file of mine which is now complete I will send it to you (I think that has all the extras etc you would need). Check the internet for save files too mate if you can`t find yours. Lost in Nightmares should be available on yr disc but I think other things will be in grey and mercenaries ????? marked if it can`t find your save data.

Hope yr signed in with the correct account with yr save data in I have scared myself doing this. By using my English account when all my savedata is in my Japanese one.

Both are region 2 Japanese discs. The saves are crossed now. What you do one one is matched on the other, but I deffo lost everything. I only play games on my UK account, so there was no confusion there. I really don't know what happened, but I'm loathe to play it for another 9 months to unlock everything again. I'd really appreciate some save data if you can sort it out.
