So how does one install it somewhere other than C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam ?

I don't want it there.

I just moved the entire folder onto another HD, and much to my surprise, it worked.

Getting further into Ravenholm now. Those new zombies, the slightly quicker ones... jezus... Took me a fair few attempts. Scariest monsters ever in a video game.

Hard mode is partly living up to it's name now, although nothing to compare to Legendary on Halo.

Source games won't run full screen for me unless I add this line '-width 1600 - refresh 85' to the launch options. If I don't do that it comes up with errors and starts in a window.

Same problem on Counterstrike, HL2, and HL1.

Anyone know how you capture screen shots in HL2? I can grab a few if anyone is interested.

HL1: Source is nothing exciting. It looks almost identical to the original version.

Sorted this now. It was the drivers after all, just needed to find the right one - even though it shouldn't have worked, it did

I've still to play more then an hour since this morning but the cat gag had me chuckling, the way its delivered and the gesturing of the characters is truly fantastic.

Whoo I've finished for the day. And I've also just found the BEST part in any game yet. Remember the first game, with the enemy that found you on sound? Well, looky here if you so desire...

Well, they've done a Tremors!! The enemies can only get you if you step on the sand, rather than the rocks. And you've got to use the Gravity Gun to get around the level, because there's not enough rock, but plenty of planks/fences...it's ****ING AMAZING!!!

One thing I noticed when I bought my copy, its not very obvious that you must have Internet access to play the game - and the gimp in the shop didn't say anything about it.

Did anyone try to install the game without CS? I did and kept getting an error message. If you install CS with it, it's fine.

So not only do you HAVE to install the game in Steam folder, and HAVE to connect to the net, you also HAVE to install CS with it.

EDIT, I've just installed and it says that it was unable to Subscribe me (whatever the hell that means), but I can play regardless. Is it safe to unplug the modem do you think and play in offline mode? Or is subscription necessary?
