Are these recent mailings btw ? I think the 26th was the release date that was being touted before the gold announcement

God knows sorry I was told by someone, so it may..or may not be bs. Personally the mailings i've received from them, it had the 16th, and that was a few weeks back.

Until someone tells me otherwise I'm going to assume the game will be out on the 16th. All this talk of delay is just rot until someone declares the official position on it.

Guys relax, it will be released on the 16th.

I wouldnt be 100% sure of the retail version shipping then but Steam users will get it when the States do.

I was going to email Game to see if they had details on the CE, but their wonderful website doesn't have the common sense to give you an order history, so I've no idea what my order number is. Stupid ****s.

Surely VUG won't make the same mistake Activision made with Doom III? A staggered release date will mean a lot of pirate copies being downloaded. It will also encourage people to buy from Steam which they don't want either.

Buying from PCW is like admitting defeat.

Even with the retail version you don't get a manual to read on the ****ter.

Eh? No manual!? WTF is the point in that? Why don't they just go all out and send it on awful dual sided DVD discs.

                        How annoying!

****ing hell, max profits on this one then. Infact im somewhat appauled

Tis indeed crap when manuals are not included. Adobe have a lot to answer for!

Gone it seems are the days of nice printed manuals, maybe even a few background stories and heaven forbid, a novella!

Aye but more intrestling they arnt lowering the price of said product. Which is bollocks, obv

Shame, cos the manuals for the first ones were pretty cool and done in a Black Mesa Dossier kind of way. Was a clever touch which should have been continued.

But then saying that I think the plotline for HL2 is going to be strong enough that you don't need a manual to fill you in with back story. You've got HL1 for that I guess.

Plus I can see more games going this way. 9 times out of 10 today there's an ingame tutorial and directions as to what keys do what.
