Apparently, according to Shacknews, Aftermath will ship over Steam this year, most likely in November, and will have a purchase price of $12.95 - thats around ?8
Gabe Newell also confirmed that the voice at the end of the trailer is actually
The Gman
- thats not a big spoiler at all really but I've done so just in case
And here's an exerpt especially for Concept
If you're still experiencing unintended audio stuttering problems in Half-Life 2, Erik at Valve invites users to email him personally, and he will do his best to get you all fixed up. He notes that the problem has been found to occur due to a very wide variety of causes, so it's more effective to help on a one-on-one basis than through generic troubleshooting.
Might be worth you seeing if he can help?

This HDR atuff looks cool but.... it seems to OTT, it seems to have captured the exposure lattitude of slide film which is very narrow. That chuch scene says it all really, it's clipped it like a digital camera would (the bright white windows). The human eye has a huge range of light sensativity. It reminds me of lense flair overuse where a fps would have it as though a camera was used!
What is interesting is in the world of photography HDR is just becoming available to in the latest version of photoshop. The affect is the opposite; you combine the same picture shot with different exposures to ensure the full dynamic range is captured. This isn't hdr, it is dynamic range shortening!

Has anyone tried the R8-HDRBLOOM mod? What performance hit will I take? And the hi-res texture pack that's knocking around?

When you're stuck back on 56k, Steam becomes the digital equivalent of clawing your fingernails down that proverbial bastard black board.
120 minutes for a Half-Life 2 patch that, from previous experience, probably won't do anything beneficial except make the game stutter even worse. Yay!
In other Half-Life 2 news, the Xbox conversion is due for 15th November - exactly a year after the PC release.
