Just to add...
After many hours extensive play the only criticism I can share with confidence - and a strange oversight considering the title’s extraordinary level of care and consideration - is the lack of path-finding. Unfortunately it does become quite common during the later stages (especially when larger and larger groups can be gathered to go to battle) that the citizens will struggle to follow the king’s route and instead be stuck behind a rock or bolder and anything in-between. The Evade command helps this massively but i’ve still found there’s been incidences where the little dudes have lost their path, and the only way to get them back is by backtracking to ‘collect’ them. At times - particularly during intense enemy encounters - this little hiccup can become toe-curling frustrating when the fellow you want to send forward isn't at your command, instead stuck at the tip of a bridge...
Still! I have found now that being consciously aware of this oversight leads to more cautious treading, which ultimately leads to little to no awkward moments of Royal Guards being trapped here and there. I just wanted to make this very aware to players early on so it doesn’t become an unnecessary hindrance. It can’t be completely avoided, but using the evade command during tight spots really does become a godsend when you have thirty or so followers behind.
Anyhoo! With that now out of the way, i can go back to sharing the love!
