The wind has a lot of potential, it even affects other players jumps. I tried Rachel but I think you have to be pretty good to get the best outof her as she hits for weak damage.

P.S. Story mode might be refreshing now but you'll change your tune once you try to get 100% clear on any of them. You will have to lose every match in every path, it's incredibly mundane to go through. When I get to a new stage I always just go and make a cup of tea while I let myself get killed for the %, then reload and play it again for the win.

Actually a question about that for the US version owners - 100%ing a character unlocks a secret audio track (basically a commentary from the voice actor for that character). On the Japanese version with the PS3 set to English, this commentary is by the Japanese VA, and there are no subtitles. What do you get on the US version? Presumably this is the first (only?) difference between the two versions.

My D-Card now lists Taokaka as my main, however I'm considering a switch to Tager after some great successes (and many more defeats of course) with him yesterday. Once you realise some of his moves get him past projectiles/gun blasts safely the ranged characters lose their advantage.. not to mention I love his magnetic draw in... THE POWER OF MAGNETISMMMM!

Every developer has to screw up a bit, but when speaking about percentage they screw up big time...with Noel I witnessed that the dead sequence has some lines of dialogue, but including those in the 100% is a bit awkward.

Is the method of getting 100% a little like Ridge Racer Type 4?

          Dunno, not played that.

God, the rapage I endured tonight.. it's so demoralising when EVERY opponent you meet, regardless of their level, completely trounces you.

In Player Match I was 8 for 8 against this one guy, but he seemed to get me sussed out completely as he won the next 10 rounds straight... then left, and I continued to lose against every other player who came in. It was painful.

Then I went into Ranked Match and managed to win 3 or 4! I got my first message from an opponent too. I was expecting hatemail but he congratulated me on beating his Noel with Tager because 'she is such a cheap bitch' (his words lol)

Quick Question regarding the PS3 US LE version...

Does anyone know if the packaged Blu-Ray disc is Region Free??
Just had confirmation of shipping on my one & would hate for it to be unplayable...need to see the elite playing the game.

The tutorial blu-ray is supposed to be region free.

well playing the game and enjoying it the story mode can be a bit of a grind to get 100%

characters Seem pretty good though the two main characters i find a bit to similar in appearance to sol and ky

got to say i dont like Hakumen i just think they did the other characters then rushed him does not appear to have the moveset and balance of the other characters and his attacks are really overpowered

My first time online, a few highs, a lot of lows.
Went for Nu as my character except once when I mistakenly chose Jin...went against an other Jin, got wasted big time in a ranked match (never used him before). One guy with Noel handed me a perfect defeat after a difficult and losing first round. Kudos to him, it was interesting to see how he was able to keep her drive on for most part of the round: I used her only once so I don't really know the details.
My very first round was against an Hakumen...and I have to revise my tactics a bit against Hakumen as my bad habit to dash+combo doens't really work. Wont against two Arakunes and almost won against a Ragna.
The difficult part is to find of my skill level, in my first ranked match was against a level 33...liking it very much, even in single player: today I was able to end for the first time Ragna' story and got against Rachel in her boss form (never seen so many thunders in her attacks) with Nu in arcade mode.
BTW, for those who have already tried online, is it normal to see a laggy presentation and a perfectly fine match?

Yeah. I've seen that. The game is synchronizing and therefore the presentation shows some lag.

I've gave it a quick look today. The video compression is quite high, but probably because it's DVD quality upscaled to 720p for the BluRay.
I've take at the intro (IGN gal explaining what Blazblue is), system features (good - it also goes as deep as telling frames used for barriers and such), glossary and Nu "walkthrough" in the characters section.
Probably I've chosen one of the most basic characters as she doesn't have any specific gauge (like Rachel or Tager), but she is the character I'm using the most.
Character presentation show all basic attacks (plus d-pad/stick combinations) and special moves, including distortion drives and astral finishes; one thing I haven't noticed if it describes how to perform astral finishes once unlocked.
It's interesting to note that some details have been left out from the manual (like Nu's ability to call her ground swords from the edge of the screen and not from her) and there's a good combo section that first list the commands used and then shows how it performs - it's good, however it's a simple reel and you need to pause a lot if you want to keep track how what is happening.
Unfortunately I haven't seen any trace of footage of players VS players, which could have been more interesting than a simple list of combos against the training dummy.

It's good that you're picking up Nu, a lot of people were worried that she would be overused online due to her easy to use drives but she is actually a pretty rare opponent. A good Nu player makes you feel like you're not even interacting with the fight, you just get completely hammered, it's an amazing spectacle lol
