This is false akaik, the online difficulty doesn't scale according to the number of players set. Most people including myself have thought that it does but apparently it makes no difference.

Well it makes a difference for me, heh,.. enemies take alot longer to kill if its set to 4 players than if its set to one. Try it. For instance I'm using a Long Sword now and it takes four hits to kill a Jaggi when its set to four players, it only takes two when its set to one player, So youre wrong.

If you think about it there would be no reason in letting you set how many players you wanted otherwise. its not about limiting games to just you and your mate or whatever, becuase you can set a password for that anyway.

Sounds pretty strange, I chose a city with just four players and I always got the same message when I was trying to warp on either of you.
Well, no big problem, starting to really like the game, I'll be online more.

That doesnt equate to what i've experienced. I always set the number of players to 1 when soloing online and the small Jaggi take a lot more hits than they do in single player.

Got my first Switch Axe last night, probably my favourite weapon type so far, loving it.

Well thats weird becuase it changes things for me... I doubt I have imagined it, Even after 40 odd hours I doubt I am good enough at the game to to complete some of the online missions that I have solo if what youre saying is correct. You have me doubting myself now though so will check later, just hard to belive ive played quite a bit online and am wrong about it.

As I mentioned earlier though there isnt even a point in letting you select how many players you want if this isnt why as the only other reason you would need to use it would be to restrict missions to just your friends or whatever, but you can set a password for that.

Any tips on using the Giant Sword on Qurepeco, it always bounces off its wings or other things. I can do him with the lance no problem, but it just took me 40mins to fell him with the GS.

You need a better edge to it - green/blue/white.

I had my behind handed to me by Barioth earlier. Lagiacrus and Rathalos were nothing compared to him. He's THE toughest, with Diablos in second place and (possibly) Uragankin in third. Evil Joe is easier in my opinion.

I need to go back to using other weapons.

Just got me that teddy bear helm mentioned earlier. Love it!

No he means the sharpness. All early weapons only have 3 levels of sharpness... but as you progress weapons can have three extra levels of sharpness that show up as green, blue and finally white on the bar that shows the weapons sharpness when you upgrade or forge it.

Really sharp weapons can cut through pretty much anything.

Good choice on bowgun parts too, the shield on the barrozooka is invaluable.

I'm in the Ingot set right now, that plus the bowgun above is perfect for taking out Lagia. I'm going to go against Rathalos more tonight, the barrel made from him is even better - boosted fire shells + shield.

What would you recommend as a good all round bowgun Kryss? I've yet to tackle them properly in Tri, built a few odds and sods but most of my cash is going on armor.

My personal favourite bowgun can't be made until you've beaten 6*:
                            Frame: Jaggi Fire
                            Barrel: Evil Machine
                            Stock: Devil Wing
Combined with the Evil Joe armour set, it's great against anything as it can fire every different kind of elemental shell.

Sadly there is no one good bowgun to start. The heavy one is probably best because it has a shield. You'll have to spend some time finding good combinations of parts tailored to fighting different monsters.

The barrel I was looking forward to making doesn't boost fire shells sadly, I must have been thinking of the Agunaktor one.

been playing this for a bit and really enjoying it I'm probably only 3 big wyvern in. Ive got a full set of great jaggi armor and looking towards building up a Royal Ludruth one, he was hard to take down on my own but i did it first time lol.

Mainly been playing this offline but stuck my toe online last night to see how the setup is there and its not bad. if any other lowly players are about at the weekend and fancy helping me out with the first lot of quests give me a shout.

Almost have my Rathalos set finished, just need to choose between making a guard or a barrel. Tough choice.
