the easiest way of destroying all GeoPanels is to put them all on the same colour, making sure the one furthest away is the blank one. Invincible geos can be destroyed by throwing them at an enemy.

You put it alot better than me, Randy

I'd like to pick your brains on 1 or 2 things.

When should i transmigrate, what would be the optimal time to do this?

Is there anything special in the gums and sweets apart from Hp & Sp restoration?

Are you able to go into the above in item world?

I've started to accumulate alot of stuff in the warehouse, is it better to catch the specialists in these items, transfer them and sell the item?

I've just done the 3rd chapter in the rich palace. I'm more than happy with what i got at the end :P

I'm really getting into the story, humour is brilliant.

Not much point in transmigrating until you reach lvl 1000, and really you'll want to have unlocked the hidden maps to aid your power leveling. There's more on transmigration on page 6 of this thread.

There'll come a point where it's just not worth keeping the low-level items, even for specialist runs through the item world. It's worth doing it for most of your first run through the game, though. Maybe keep a few on hand for bribing the senate, if you want - it took me a while to realise it, but they take notice of an item's rarity rather than it's power, so you can turn them to your way of thinking by chucking things like Rarity 60 ABC gum at them.

Just finished the story for the first time and got the 'normal' bad ending. Totally unexpected - I'd not read any of the requirements for the different endings, because I didn't want the game spoiled for me.

One thing I'm a bit annoyed about, though, is that starting the second cycle means I've had Prinny Land taken away from me until episode 9 again. It almost feels like I've been punished for completing the game. Does it open up automatically once I get back to ep 9, Marty, or am I going to have to go through the senate again?

The power levelling is all done in the story mode. The first taste of PLing is in Dinero's Palace: Lavish hall.

kill off the cleric, warrior and the girl, then you can just lift the brawlers onto each other, creating a level 30+ brawler. The great bit about this is they don't attack for some reason, so you can kill them off without any worry. Be careful though, they do counter attack, but that shouldnt be a problem. Your levels will jump

I advise you to make a male brawler and warrior and take them to that stage, power level them to 10, and then you've unlocked the Samurai, which is the 2nd strongest melee in the game.

After that, go to Jotunheim: Terrible Cold and create one powerful enemy with the lifting technique. She'll turn out to be level 127, kill her and watch your levels jump to around 40-50 in no time at all.

I'm afraid not, you have to go and open it via the senate again. In the end my party was more than strong enough to force a pass through defeating the senate in battle, so I cycled through the game several times to see the different endings.

And Razz, although there are a couple of levels you can power level on in the story as you've mentioned, these pail in comparison to power levelling in the hidden levels. You n00b.

Bah. That's just tight. It's the same story with Cave of Ordeals and the other hidden areas, yeah?

Just managed to open CoO, by the way. Ended up fiddling the odds in my favour by going backwards and forwards on the "Whi will address the assembly?" screen until I got an assembly of just fourteen senators, then got lucky with their levels and beat them up.

CoO3 is absolutely mental. Laharl's increased level from 272 to 333 in the space of two five-minute battles. Just nuts. Going through the Item World for some of the better items, I was notching an extra level every two or three enemies for a while - he's kitted out with the full 300 Statisticians and a number of Gladiators (500ish), which helped that happen - but I wasn't expecting to bump him up by 60 levels in such a short space of time.

Have I mentioned recently how much I love this game? I love this game.

Guys, I've been playing this game for thrity-five hours and I had no idea the game was this deep.

I'm not sure I understand the whole lifting enemies technique. Would someone mind detailing that a bit? Sorry, but it sounds to cool to pass up.

If you pick up an enemy and chuck him onto the same square as another enemy, they'll merge into a single, higher level, bad guy. On most levels, this isn't a good thing to do, as you'll end up with creatures that can easily kill you, but there are a few levels that have invulnerability tiles covering almost the entire stage. So, in these areas, you can safely merge all the enemies into one then kill it to get loads of experience points (you have to trap it somewhere so that it is standing on a blank tile with your team all stood on invulnerability tiles). The only thing you have to be careful of is that you don't make something so strong you can't actually kill it.

i hate powerlevelling on Jotunhiem - terrible cold. it takes ages to get them all to merge together and then getting the last monster on the square. it then takes ages to kill the darn thing. i just level each character on there once, im doing it at the moment, i just trimigrated most of my characters.

Got it. Thank you. My guys are only gaining one level at a time though. mostly because there in the 16-20 range. But this must be a great way to level up new recruit.

Now if I could just undertsand the details behind the item world and how one can benefit from merging the character stats that pop up when you press square.

                            Still, what a game.

Terrible Cold is only any good for gaining levels up to a point. You don't need to be terribly powerful to get further into the story, and chances are that you'll spoil some of the challenge for yourself if you are. When I finished the story for the first time, Laharl was at around 105, Etna was 74, my Blue Mage was 63 and all the other members were in the high-twenties (with the exception of the story-specific ones, who were all more or less at their original starting levels). Hugely unbalanced, I know, but it got the job done.

That's one of my two minor gripes about Disgaea - it's too easy to level up and kill the story mode as a result. The other is that none of the battles present any real puzzles - I'd have liked to have seen a couple of turn-restricted battles in the story, along with a few class-restricted ones and the like. There's a slight over-reliance on the geo panels to get that job done. The story mode never asks you to really use your brain. That's a missed opportunity, imo.

What you want to be doing there is this kind of thing:

Each item has resident specialists on it. They're the stats that you're refering to - the ones with names like Gladiator and Armsmaster that you see when you press the square on any item. When you're inside the Item World, the screen might move towards one unit in particular and highlight it with the word "Check!". This is one of those residents. If you defeat hir in battle - and you've got to do it with one of your own units, not let the other enemy units kill it - the next time you look at that item's stats and press square, one of the names (Gladiator, Armsmaster, etc.) will appear in blue. You might also notice that hir stats have doubled as well. This means that you can now move that one to other items in order to have it increase their stats instead.

There are maximum values for some of the specialists. The maximum Statistician value on any one item, for example, is 300, but Gladiators can go up to 19,998 (iirc).

Specialists are more useful than simply power leveling, in a lot of ways.

Just wanted to clear something up that I said in my previous post, too. If you're pretty sure that you're going to have to do battle with the senators to get certain bills passed, make sure to take note of both the number of senators and their influence before you put the bill forwards for the vote. You can often help yourself out by working the battle in your favour before it's even begun.

Say you want to open Alternate Netherworld. The required influence for that is 3000. What you want to be doing is keep on selecting and deselecting the character who'll propose the bill (Laharl, most likely) until you get an influencevalue of as little over 3000 as possible, but with as many senators as possible (I think the highest number there is 28 ). What this means is that the 3000 influence will be spread out amongst as many senators as possible, and as influence seems to be directly based upon their level, you should have skewed the upcoming battle in your favour. While you've got a huge number of senators to fight, because their influence is spread out so thin they'll probably mostly be of a relatively low level.

In other words, *don't* do what I did in my previous post, unless you want to make life harder for yourself.
