Thanks all. The save thing is sorted and progress is being made now. I know it sounds crap notbeing able to find the save, but I'd started the game twice and not been able to get back to the castle.

Glad we could help. Now maybe you can enjoy the game properly.
I discovered one thing about the saves in the game. The only limit is the amount of space on the memory card. I have 20 saves though some are being kept so that I can give a friend of mine a taste of the game.Last edited by Bassman; 07-07-2004, 06:25.

I just got me the PAL version of this as well ( don't got no USA PS2) and a wee shot of it turned into 4 hours, it's great, annoyingly however is that i get a LOT of " RGB Left shift" if you know what i mean and no centre screen option....damn.
And that Low res thing that someone else mentioned is making my tv screen do a odd "pulsing" motion and a bit of flicker at the top.....wierd..
Now i just need my Ps2 to stop reading blue disks..to complete my run of bad luck.

I have a PAL PS2 but I added the flip top option and bought the Swap Magic disks. Apparently America was the only region to get the game on DVD.
I tried the PAL version without a problem but then I have a Sony TV.
That picture sounds a bit strange. I remember someone else saying they had a problem with the game. What sort of TV do you have?Last edited by Bassman; 08-07-2004, 05:28.

i got Gordon, Jennifer and Thursday last night. Also "recruited" "Cognac" a Lvl 48 (I think it was) Zombie which now up to Lvl 51 or 52. Also got a Lvl 42 Wraith called "Acid" they do come up with interesting names. The Star Mage got some serious levels last night (up to 61 or 62 now). At 50,000+ a level that is some serious EXP. On the initial level of enemy strength the mage was able to do the Gordon/Thursday level alone! Upped the enemy strength again and put a little more firepower in to clear it.
I am still not convinced of the usefulness of the square of 9 on Episode 9 in terms of EXP though I suppose it could explain why I collected so many levels last night.
Successfully relieved a couple of Star Orbs of their owners!

I did use Maderas once. I even levelled him up at "Terrible Cold" I think. I levelled up Jennifer last night.
Have you got the Cave of Ordeal yet.
I have really got to get some powerful weapons and the residents sussed, though my Star Mage can make a fairly big dent on that square in one hit.

I still haven't made a mage or skull yet just clerics for backup. Gotta love the inherent flexibility in the game with regard to the mix of characters.
I'm waiting for the cave of ordeal 3 before I mess around making any new new characters now so I can power level them super quick.
Not got the cave of ordeal yet, even with bribing I get the vote rejected every time and I'm only Lv. 68 with Laharl so I can't persuade by force yet - looks like it might be easier to open Prinny Land so I'll have a crack tonight.

Decided to tramsmigrate my level 1000+ Laharl last night to see what happens(hadn't even attempted transmigration with anyone before), thanks to Valgipus 4 initially and then Cave of Ordeal 3 I was back up to level 1000 within the hour! only this time Laharls stats were twice the original size with his DEF four times as high due to dumping all ten ability points onto it. I transmigrated him again straight after but checking his stats once I'd built him up again his DEF was actually weaker, I did transmigrate a few levels shy of what I had before, would this be the cause of the weaker stat?

From what I have seen transmigration below 1000 is not recommended, though I have no idea why his defence would actually be reduced especailly as it was boosted initially when he transmigrated. You would expect the DEF to get to its previous Level before 1000.
You did the transmigration at a point when his DEF was greater than it was when he previously reached 1000 did you? Hypothesising I am afraid, but it may strike a chord.
I don't think there are any clues at GameFAQs?
