A human player will more often than not out smart the AI. Don't depend on it. I only said what I said about the pm stuff to help finally usher him to the dead end he was slowly walking towards. I apologize for this. Dicks must be fended off with another waving dick. Fight fire with fire and all that

Let's get along, but let's not try to talk twoddle at the same time.

Lol thats fair. But I personally dont think he was wrong. Certainly I have found the shooting a doddle.
You have taken the wind out of the topic now with that very diplomatic reply!!

Hey I'm not denying that shooting with a decent striker or midfielder will hit the target more than possibly 70% of the time. IF unchallenged and no near pressure from an opposing player.

Get this, go into training and try an score from 35 yards out. You'll get a trophy for that. Easy is it? You are unchallenged because you are the only team on the pitch.

Yes, the goalie will probably parry it, but more often than not it will be parried out left or right.

Don't forget, this is all dependant on a number of factors. Is your opponent good enough? I'd say, seeing as this is more of a "fan" game now.. I'd bet yes. Hence why there is much of a rumble about this being even a problem. I don't see it as one because I truely believe that, if you are going to give Gerrard all that space to wind up a shot from 20-25 yards out, you better hope you goalie is good.

You learn to defend. Once you do, you love defending. You'll start faking out your oppoents, pretending you're inviting a shot, but then a well timed pressure move is initated and you're in posession.

Take time to master. It's rewarding. It's PES' downfall too. Not as accessible as it's rival.

lol no need to keep talking mate. I dont agree in the slightest. I have played PES in its incarnation since Hyper Soccer on the NES.

I love how people think they've got a license to roam coz they played Space War. I played Match Day on the speccy and Fighting Soccer in the arcades, so erm...yeah.

Easiest answer chosen by Nakas there in this heated discussion with myself.

TBH i posted by accident as was feeding Sakura-chan. The point is its not like i need convincing because i know how Pro Evo works. Its not like I am someone who needs convincing about the play mechanics. I have spent many years seeing past the poor licenses, crap commentary and general laziness due to outright brilliance of the game.
It just isnt there anymore. Like you said its a 'fans' game. For me that reads people who cannot let go to the series.
For me its no longer like playing football. If running through treacle, waiting for players to kick a ball for ages and running like a huge dildo is stuck up your arse is football then I must be watching the wrong sport.

One final thing though, I urge you to seek out the PS2 version of PES 2010 and I bet its a much better game to play.

I have J.League Winning Eleven 2009 Club Championship which was released in August. Basically, it's PES2010 for PS2 before it gets de-J.League-asized. Yeah, it's ace. It is very arcadey, but lots of fun. To be honest I prefer this PS3 version. The defencively minded play is reminding me of PES5. It needs brushing up in places. 2 v 2 seems neglected as there's some glaring problems in terms of cursor controls. I've made my moan to Konami on the forums.

Strange one but play J-leauge on a 4-3 tv setting. Its a lot faster on widescreen due to the stretched image with no true widescreen option. It will slow the game down to a realistic level and show its simulation feel.

I play it on 4:3 as it looks uglier on 16:9. I really hope there's a PS3 version of a J.League licensed WE soon. I wanna get my beloved Tokyo Verdy out of that J2 in HD.

This reminds me. Last night I played PES2010 online with Japan and beat the Argies 3-0. It was tough dealing with Messi, but nothing Nakazawa couldn't deal with

Goal keepers are utterly ruining this for me. Played 5 games against my PES friend last night and all but two goals were down to shocking goal keeping. Parrying I can just about put up with (though they really should catch more) but on numerous occasions shots hit straight at the goalie were going in. I'm not even talking about rockets either, we had 2 half hearted long distance attempts go in that were quite frankly embarrasing to watch as they rolled along the ground in such a way that a real goalie would simply take one step to the side and bend down and pick it up. Instead, PES decides to pathetically dive at it and palm it into it's own net

For the most part I really enjoy the game and even 'get' the whole unresponsive control thing but these keepers are utterly ruining it. I'm tempted to edit all the keeper stats to 99 to see if that improves things but I fear the problem is deeply rooted in the AI.

On a semi related note, is anyone finding this really easy? I've never been one to play PES on it's hardest setting but switched up to Top Player a few days ago and still haven't lost a game. Started a World Cup with England, won my group conceding just 1 goal (a typically weak parry from my keeper of course) beat Japan 8-0 in the 2nd round then Argentina 4-0 in the quarter final....

Reysol for me. May see you next season! Funnily enough seen both Verdy and Reysol live!

I thought it was easy on Top Player, but started to get beat or draw lots in ML, but I think this is due to being forced to rotate my squad. To be honest, I'm bored of playing the AI. I think Konami have lost touch hailing this TeamVision thing. It didnt work last year and same this year. It's happening in PS2 versions too. Boring AI. Who like to keep the ball more than attack.

I'm read on PES Fan that some reckon Professional difficulty is harder than Top Player.

When I go back to Japan for another holiday I'm going to try and see a game. I went to the Ajinomoto stadium when I went last year, but no matches on. I bought a Verdy and FC Tokyo shirt from the club store which strangely seemed to stock more Juventus gear than anything else

Verdy will be lucky to finish in top 6 at the moment

Reysol 3rd bottom as of last week. First club in japan to have crowd trouble also!
