Playing this on hardened and to be honest, it's making me feel a chump at times.

So many deaths from enemies popping into existence that I didn't notice beforehand, yet there they are...stood over my corpse.

Not giving up yet, half way through ACT II so can't be *that* **** at the game.

Regarding the story, am I the only one who felt like the pre-loading "scenes" could have benefited from being less "scatty" and actually being more focussed.

Oh and chalk another one up who doesn't like the blood splatter, it's just way over the top.

That said, Spec Ops is just amazing!

Just completed this on Regular, and it only took me 5 hours which is a little disappointing. I'm going to go back and play it again on Hardened, but like Jebus said I'm sure I've been killed by enemies that have spawned behind me after I've cleared an area which might make Hardened very frustrating.

I enjoyed it though, it's like playing through a proper OTT action movie, but I don't think it's as good as MW.

I liked the bit that seemed like a blatant rip-off of the film The Rock when you're in that shower area

. Like others have said I think the story could've been told a little better because at times I didn't know why I was doing the things I was supposed to be. I haven't touched online or Special Ops yet though.

What is Special Ops mode anyway? Is it a single player thing?

Spec ops can be played single player or co-op. I just started it this afternoon and it's fantastic. Far more enjoyable than the single player campaign, and it totally reminds me of the arcade mode from Timesplitters 2 with it's bite size challenges.

You don't know how glad I am to read this mate! I'd though I was just missing them, but time after time it's like they'd spawn in front of me or to my side, or behind and insta-kill me!

That kind of thing just breaks the suspense at times for me, and feels very "gamey", whereas otherwise it's just ultra-intense!

Just finished the single-player and overall I thought it was an okay game. I understood the story but felt it was all over the place. What I wouldn't have given for a proper cutscene rather than a Sky News style image flash. Also,

far too many loose ends and "ooh, the inevitable sequel" moments

I honestly feel that the game could have done with a little more polish in terms of the difficulty level and some of the annoying enemy insta-spawns.

It's obvious that IW have spent more time on the Multiplayer as that is great (I sucked at the first one).

I still stand by my earlier statement of Killzone 2 being superior.

PLayed online MP with randoms tonight. Great fun. Got a 5 kill streak in my first game which pleased me. Just like the previous game, some maps I'm pretty good on and some I just die over and over.

I've just read the plot on Wiki and I swear that a vast amount of information isn't properly divulged to the player. Having read the Wiki everything now makes sense but how many people are going to think to check the Internet to make sense of the game?

And Suped Up does not mean better. See Gears 2 as a prime example.

Eh? To be honest i thought the Gears 2 single player was alot better than the first games.

And I'm pretty sure suped up does mean better anyway.

That sounds like "better" to me, and also an accurate description of the game's multiplayer element. It's a souped-up version of COD4's, so yeah, nice way to describe it.

While the 25 kill streak nuke may be overkill it's not going to happen often at all. I specially dont have to worry as I play free for all alot. I do worry the predator missle at 5 kills is a bit much, specially if it shows people as red squares like in single player (does it?) it's such an easy kill.

I just can't get into this online, the multiplayer annoys me. It's too fast and too frantic with too much air support attacking at the same time. I could hold my own in CoD4, but there's a more noticeable advantage to higher ranks in this one. I think CoD4 online was better than this and I haven't missed playing that since trading it in months ago. It's a shame because I was looking forward to a new online game. Bad Company 2 can't come soon enough.

Spec ops can be played single player or co-op.

It's worth noting that not all the missions can be played solo, some prompt that there has to be two players, so the summary text when you highlight Spec Ops on the main menu screen isn't entirely true.

What the hell is going on??

I have the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 and the 360 online is totally useless. No matter what I try my connection won't go over one bar on the score screen. Compare this to the PS3 version where I am consistantly at full bandwith and I am starting to get a little annoyed as 360 was going to be my online console of choice due to more people that I know having a 360 than a PS3.

Is it just another case of AAA game gets released, Xbox Live can't hack it or is it something to do with my system?
