For those playing on the PS3, can you do me a major favour?
Set your PS3 to French in the options menu, then load Mass Effect 2 and see if the game has French text/dialogue.
If it does, that means the French version probably has English, and I can pick it up via trade-in locally.
Thanks in advance.

Finished the DLC last night and I can see why people haven't been knocked for six by it. I was mainly glad just to get my true female Shepherd back in active duty for one last mission before the wait for ME3 begins. It was alright but for ME3 I think I'd prefer to have a premium priced 12hr DLC expansion rather than these bitty mission packs.

Just finished ME2 last night after getting bored with the original and skipping it. It took my OCD self about 50 hours, with all planets scanned and way, way too many minerals. No romance though. Forever alone!
It's far improved over the original. I played that for about 6 or 7 hours and just dropped it out of boredom. I had a similar experience with Assassin's Creed 2 - another superb sequel.
I'm really looking forward to ME3 now! Are any of the DLCs worth playing? From what I can tell in this thread, Arrival isn't worth it.

Oh, I played as a lady. I was so annoyed by the first game that I thought I should try a different voice actor. I'm glad I did, she's awesome. Plus I made her look a bit like my girlfriend, so I got the whole kick-ass girlfriend fantasy thing going on. I did try to seduce various ladies, but apart from some Kelly "action", which doesn't really count, nobody bit. Le sad!
I'm thinking about replaying from ME1 as a Renegade female. I played ME2 as an adept, which was awesome. Are there any other ridiculously powerful classes with kick-ass area of affect powers?

Just completed Arrival. After reading negative feedback across the net, I went into it expecting the worst, but I thought it was pretty decent. Not exactly up there with the Shadow Broker DLC, but possibly the second best.
In the long-term, I do hope that Bioware step away from the smaller, nugget-sized DLC and works on less, but more substantial pieces of DLC. I was quite happy to pay ~?20 for Oblivion: Shivering Isles, and I'd prefer to see Bioware do something of a similar scale.

Apologies about the need to re-install stuff, I hadn't anticipated that.

I just got this game and started playing. Having totally missed ME1 I feel kind of lost with so much going on from the beginning regarding information on races, tech and locations etc. I'm still not sure what I'm doing when in combat either. I can see that it's an amazing game, but I'm worried I'll drop out of it due to overload.
I guess I need to have a day off work and focus on it to get it going for me.
