Yeah but they could be stealth beat downs or the dreaded shotty/beatdown combo, Halo could never be played solely as a melee game, I mean it's not MW style stabbing is it? Now that is tiresome.

Just check the stats after a match. When someone scores 11 beatdowns vs 4 weapon kills, you know the game is out of balance.
If you have a shotgun/sword/melee whore in your match just arm up with armor lock or a charge pistol with magnum/dmr.

All those whores have one thing in their mind.....B line for you. You know what direction they are going and what their move will be (most times). Last resort make sure you have a sticky and stick them, at least the result will be 1 for 1.

I found melee is a lot more balanced in this Halo. If you came at me with your melee filth I will kill you most times with my good friend armor lock and a bullet to the face, if you don't melee me you have been hit 4 times already with the DMR so one more and your cooked!

My third freeze, this one the same as the first time. I was playing a multiplayer game, the screen went black due to someone quitting and that's how it stayed until I shut down the console. It wasn't trying to connect, because the icon in front of Connecting / Starting Game wasn't animated any more.

This is not the quality I expect from Bungie.

Its the sort of quality you expect from your Xbox 360 though...

As much as I'm enjoying this online, does anybody else think it's lazy that they've used single player campaign sections and Forge to create the multiplayer maps on the disc. It's great to see so many remakes, but the surroundings of the Forge World maps gets a bit monotonous.

I was surprised to find that a majority of the maps all use that Forge level as a basis. While its impressive they can do that it also cheapens it a bit and its no wonder the new map pack is coming out already.

A friend and me made a pretty decent map in the new forge in a few evenings so I really hope these new maps are original content and not just in the Forge landscape.

I hope there's some kind of Forge playlist. It's probably an impossible task for Bungie, but ideally they'd sort through and put, say, 100 of the best Forge maps in a seperate section, and split further based on map size / gametype.

I could really use some new maps on this already, but the credit system puts many off having "fun" games

I'm still in 2 minds about the whole campaign/multiplayer map crossover, on one side it's nice that the maps you are playing in do have a purpose and justification for the area you are playing in. Bungie always had little descriptions of what a specific structure was used for in the Haloverse.

When I was playing campaign many of the arenas were just throw away areas and I just walked through them briefly, but there is still something quite cheap about them using them in both modes.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, it's nothing new. Call of Duty has always done, as have the Rainbow Six games and Battlefield. Hell, even Goldeneye did it

I think it's a good idea to use campaign level sections to enhance an existing multiplayer set of maps, I don't like how in Reach though that's pretty much all there is.

Quite an expensive map pack for 3 maps but they are all new locations.

Agree about the forge-world. Its the most verstatile landscape for creating without boundaries but I would still love it if Bungie create another location just as big just for forge.

There is nothing to stop them just dropping another huge template map for $5 and letting editors flex their muscle. Cheap way of getting quality new content.

My biggest grip with forge world is that although you can create some crazy geometry, they really could of done with some way of changing the skybox/lighting or something, as all the maps form forge look a big samey becauase they are often just blue horizon all around.

                            Comment

You can change the lighting. There are some themes inside forge that let you change how the world lighting appears. You can make it look rather dark, high contrast and so on and layer the effects for different looks.

Still, at the end of the day you're still in the same locale with grass fields, mountains and waterfalls.

Those are light photoshop filters though, they just make everything dulller or more colourful or black and white, the same as Halo 3.

hat I mean is I think it would be good if you could make it sunset or change the sky mars coloured if you wanted
