On another note, that night race in Tuscany for the grand tour is bloomin' ridiculous! Unless I have another car right in front of me I have no idea where the road is, headlights don't do a damn thing when you're going over blind crests every 10 seconds! I came in 30 seconds behind first place ><

The cars you drive in that series of events are all spectacular though - anyone who complains that this game is dull needs to give them a whirl.. OMG
Is that the rally or Lamborghini one?

I can't do either at all. Only a low speed crawl allows me to get round the track.

Nope, definitely Laguna Seca that folk were moaning about cos I was disappointed myself, and have been until now. I was also surprised to get the nordschliefe because people were originally saying that was excluded too.

Spa has never been in GT has it? So not really a disappointing exclusion.
Which game had the Fiorano test track though? I have a feeling it was GT4 (although maybe I'm confused and it was F355 challenge or something!)

edit - Supergoal, it's the Lambo one. The rally was a pain too as the Ford seems to stall at every hairpin, but I came in just 1 second inside the bronze time.

by the way, does anyone know what was changed in the 1.03 patch?

Everytime I load the game up I get a message saying my time and date are set incorrectly. Any ideas what that's about?

Thing is, they are set correctly.

            Haha I get that too.

Yep, Fiorano is in Dreamcast F355 Challenge. Its also in System3's Ferrari games, but only for the tutorial. Those are the only games I know of that have it.

As for rally cars "stalling" in corners, turn TCS off to cure that.

I must say, I'm really enjoying using the cockpit view in the Premium cars. I don't normally go for that type of viewpoint in racing games as it usually makes things more difficult, but its really good in GT5.

The PS3 clock always creeps out of sync when you set by internet (maybe manually too) and GT5 is picking up on this. I got rid of that message by resetting my clock from the XMB, but I guess I'll have to do it again in a month or two.

A PS3 has an innate ability to know the right time without using the hardware clock, because my trophies are always timestamped with the correct time and not the time the PS3 thinks it is. Must be done via PSN. I wish they would use that to auto-correct.

Earn credits while racing online ? (or are they still in denial about this fact)

Removal of the stupid START RACE NOW option that just about anyone can press and start the race, making it impossible for the lobby owner to change the track or the car rules, ever.?

1.03 adds mechanical damage. None, light (damage recovers over time) and heavy (pit stop required to fix damage). Area of damage is highlighted in the hud apparently.

the game is really testing my patience. i am at level 14 and the best car in my garage is a M3, which i had to buy for myself of course...

i don't seem to get any rewards for making 2nd and 3rd place - is it only gold that counts? - and i don't make enough money to buy all the cars i need to participate in every A-spec race. the racing itself is nowhere as exciting as it was in Forza, let alone Shift. some cars behave very strange or lacking grip. with some cars the handling differs depending on the viewpoint

and where are the RUF Porsches? i've seen one in a race but i can't seem to find any dealers or used offers.

Is it right that damage is only for the online modes , i played this for 4 hours saturdy night, and i decided i just didnt enjoy it, the menu gets on my nerves so much, and the race restrictions, i do like the racing but most of this juts annoys me.

The patch adds damage to the online modes, it's already in the offline modes (some of them at least) but you need to be a certain level to unlock it.

I have been using the Race Modded ZR-1 on that Indy American race for some easy money. Best yet was (I think) just under 4 minutes for 98K. which with menus would be just over a million credits an hour.

I have been making good use of the Formula GT to clear up some the outstanding series in the 4th and 5th Tiers. Still need a Historic Motor though and a German Touring car, for the ones the Formula GT isn't valid for. Not keen on the 20 lap races or the 3 laps of the extended 'Ring in those last two Championships of Tier 5. I wonder if completing that unlocks the track for Arcade and Practice.
How did you get tye Formula GT???

I've won everything I can in A-spec mode and still haven't won one. All there is left is the Formula GT event which I don't have a car for and the Endurance races I have yet to unlock. I'm currently on level 29 and need a mere 640,000 Exp or so to unlock the next Endurance race... Talk about level grinding, I'd need to do the Indy 500 four times to get that much Exp and I don't think I can face doing it one more time...

                            It's B-spec time for me I think.

I paid 4m credits for a Peugeot 908 I think it was, then used it to finish Like the wind and won a Minolta Toyota, which is both lighter and more powerful. So I only really needed the 4m credit car for one race!

I think I've seen GT cars for 1.5-3m or so credits in the Used dealer. You can get 'GT2' type cars for 950,000 credits new, but they're not that great, you'd possibly be better off with a 500,000 credit NASCAR.

The B Spec side is pissing me off.

I gave the driver a much higher spec car, more than 100HP than the competition be he struggled in 6th place.

How the hell you supposed to get him to win?
