There are some more, there should be some lists roaming around.
yes, i am sure there are lists. but i refuse to believe that this important info isn't provided within the game - although it wouldn't surprise me after all

Why is it important that you be told? If you have a car you like, you can check to see if you can upgrade it. If not, well too bad, just do something else to it instead. What's the problem? Is it necessary to have a car with racing modifications to gain entry to a particular series?

Racing mods haven't been in since GT1 AFAIK, but back then I loved the random surprises you could get from discovering that your old used banger could be race modded. Wouldn't have been the same if you knew beforehand.

They were in GT2 as well IIRC. One of the reasons I was put off with the series later on. I loved the fact you could racing modify any car.

How do you do racing mods?

In the GT Auto section where you can wash your car etc.

              Me too.

In Gran Turismo 1.. or 2.. You needed all the weight reductions first though didn't you?

Remember fondly upgrading my Subaru to near limits, never as good as the proper LM Edition Impreza though.

              God I love that game..

got 4th on the first one (van) but can't even finish with the second one with the sports car

The discs do glow when it's appropriate for them to do so.

Although games have long shown us otherwise even race car brake pads do not constantly glow while being used. Real race engineers will do their utmost to avoid it happening as it increases the chance of brake fade setting in and the heat can even result in the brake pads exploding.

                  EDIT:
                  A bit extreme maybe but...

                    .
Yeah, you have to have the car fully setup with regards to weight and chassis iirc. It gave you a real sense of satisfaction when you did it. Like you had built a proper race car.

I just beat the Classic Supercar with a Ford Mark IV and that was pretty damned awesome. All because you can't power up to sickening levels as you can in 99% of other races. Highest I could tune the Mark IV to was around 570hp. It all comes down to great cornering and acceleration. Monte Carlo was especially awesome to do. Won both races with about half a second difference.

And the engines of the oldies deffo sound better than the average GT5 cars. They do roar a bit.

But just 2 races, crappy money and prize... thats it for these 20 million golden oldies? Come on now, kill those Yaris, Trucks and Lupo events for more events like this already!

Nah its not impossible. I golded all 3.

Slipstream, brake later. Reel them in at the bends. Don't crash frontal and put racing line on. You can be first place when the 2nd lap starts.

For the Lotus I used lower traction. Brake on a straight line, don't put the gas all the way down when you're about to steer. Again, brake later than the rest but don't crash into them. Its scripted ****, so you'll get the hang of it soon enough.

The final challenge is the easiest.

How is 570hp not sickeningly high? lol

My RX7 has just shy of that and hits 210mph with ease with great acceleration too..

Because other cars such as the Chaparral 2J have 700hp under their belt in that same championship. If that one starts on pole you're going to have a hard time.

Is there any way to dock my driver points or kill him? The guy is a tit and can't drive to save his life.
I gave him a Nissan gtr 07 which was about 300 hp better the the competition but he only managed to finish 6 seconds ahead of them on a 10 lap course.

The B spec driver is rubbish to say the least. It would be useful to know the ideal stats it should start out with to stand any chance, I may have to make another.

I won that Historic Series in the Ferrari 330 P4 with full upgrades, soft slicks and maxxed downforce (one of the few with adjustable downforce), Deep Forest was a matter of getting by before the first corner and driving as fast as I dared. Controlling the back end was the main thing. Only assists I had there were Traction and ABS. Monaco was a pain so I put all the assists on and managed to get by all the others by the first corner and hold the position to the end.

I wondered how I was going to do the DTM event as the Used Dealer wasn't much help. The Gift Voucher for the Extreme Races fortunately gave me the Audi A4 Touring car. Will have to try running it now!
