Haha sounds like you got a bum deal there. My fave RM car at the moment is a racing Dodge Challenge, its pretty controllable and predictable plus you can do one wheel burn outs coming out of corners.

What does the coloured arrow mean at the top of your driver's profile in the B spec results screen?

Last time I got a flat green arrow, this time I got a downward pointing orange arrow. If they are using consistent imagery that would imply my driver just got worse, but the orange arrow came at the same time as he levelled up from 4 to 5 (and he also won that race) so I don't quite get it...

I think it might be like PES and it dictates their mood.

        Could be wrong though.

that's what the game does best: to regularly annoy you - even at birthdays

my last issue: i need a VW Polo to participate in a cup race but the game doesn't even care to provide the car - neither new nor used

oh, and i need money - lots of it and quick. how to do best?

There is only a Lupo race and a good one can be won in another. Try winning European hot hatch first.

But this is mainly why I hate standard cars. The Lupo can be won, but in some other instances you really have to recheck the Used car lot many times.

Have you done the Indy 500 yet? 200 laps! And in the Minolta at least you could do the entire race at full throttle, though I found when lapping multiple cars it was often better to follow them through the corner then hold a tight line to overtake them through the exit. It was either that or risk getting spun out by them.

Not a high enough level for Indy I don't think (should check I suppose).

I have been buying a few more the Race Mod-able cars. The count now stands at 6 out of 15.

My new B spec driver has gained a couple more levels and has yet to lose a race. The joys of some decent cars for him to use!

Bought a used Evo V as for some reason I liked that one the best in an earlier GT as it seemed smoother somehow. Also managed to get an Impreza 22b from the Used Dealer. Can't be that long before I get the Trophy for 256 colours as I have been sending some from another save.

used cars... another thing i don't get. offers are frequently changing, instead of just growing and giving more options. 75% of the cars on offer are Japanese crap anyway. what's the point in this? another stupid effort to make the game more lively and real?

You seem to get 6 new cars per race, and 30 cars in total , so if you did a 5 race championship all 30 cars would be new.

ah, that's good to know. thanks.

The arrow shows your driver's recent form. There's three types of form which probably explain themselves to be honest. Green means they are improving their skills, blue means no significant changes and orange means you've unfortunately signed up Juan Pablo Montoya.

I'm not sure if people use it but many of the questions asked in this thread seem to be covered in the 93 page guide that's included in the game.

It's easy enough to find different information from the index. Chapter 5 covers GT Life, page 2 is A-Spec/B-Spec and page 3 is My Drivers.

I've only got two drivers at the moment at about level 5 or 6 (Around 20 or so races each and around 70% are victories.) but I've not had any problems with that section at all. The best thing to remember that at first you really have to treat them as if they know nothing so you need to teach them when to brake, accelerate and overtake.

Remember also that just because they seem to do OK in a one type of car on one track means they'll manage on their own in a different type of car or track. If you move them from a front wheel drive car to a rear wheel drive car they will more than likely make mistakes.

Particularly at the beginning, they won't learn anything unless you teach them it. You don't get given professional racing drivers, you get given people who've just passed their driving test.

There's been races where a driver has really been struggling and I've had to guide him on almost every section, it's not easy but I have been able to get them to the front.

It's worth remembering also that in some races the drivers just aren't capable of winning that race and the more you push them the more frustrated they will and the worse they will do. You will know pretty quickly whether they are able to win it or not and if they aren't then forget about winning the race and concentrate on teaching them how drive that track in that car.

And how on EARTH can you teach them to drive the car when they only have 4 options - each with a timer meaning you can't change your mind until 5-6 seconds later?

It means your driver has been kicked out of his condo, and has started to sleep in the car, decreasing his morale.

Yeah, it should say orange but I was going from memory. I'll correct that.

I've had no difficulties teaching them how to drive, works well for me. If you want the option to continually control what's happening, it's there for you and it's called A-Spec.

The gap between each command really shouldn't be an issue as there's more than enough opportunities to instruct them what to do throughout the game and you won't teach them how to drive a track in a single race.

It does work but it doesn't happen instantly, you really need to put the time in to see benefits in this mode. B-Spec has always really required a long term investment and that certainly doesn't seem to have changed in this game.
