Well, I think I've just found the event that'll prevent me from earning the Gold Standard trophy - the Sebastian Vettel X Challenge.
I've been able to get gold on everything else using a DualShock3, but that Red Bull car is just so fast and grippy that its really hard to be accurate for one corner, never mind 2 whole laps. Plus the goal times seem pretty brutal. Even the driver in the demonstration videos can only manage a bronze time.

Buy a Corvette ZR-1, give it an oil change and Race Mod it (give it a funky color, too). Upgrade it where possible, and add soft slicks. This'll cost you some odd 600k. You -should- have 905hp. But 880 or so works too.
Set trans to 420kph (260mph?)
both Downforce fully to the right.
Camber angle 5 - 5
Brake 0 - 0
No TCS, ABS
You should be able to take corners with 300kph, and with some slight defending you can win this. If its about Daytona, the ZR-1 Race Mod kills that race even easier. The Escudo flies off but is weak on the straights.
Won the daytona circuit using your tips - thanks a bunch, I have no chance on the first race in the like the wind series mind you. eep. Do I just reset all these settings as they were optimised for the oval?

NASCAR in A spec wasn't too bad, other than the last race at Daytona. By then I'd won anyway.
A friend gave me some settings for the car anyway. Ot at least set up the car for me. Mine with the use it has had now has almost 900HP and even with that advantage "Bob" can't make any headway with it on the second NASCAR B spec race.
Doing my Extreme Euro Rome race for some cash, working through my Euro Supercars! On that first right hander I have to make sure I don't steer into the drft/skid as that is a guaranteed nose in the barrier job. I reckon that, though it is only about 1 million an hour, it is a lot less boring than Indy. Using the Murcielago SV at the moment which is fun other than a stupid AI Audi S3 which weaves across the road at the start.

Nascar wasn't hard indeed, you need TCS etc for the non-ovals. I actually enjoyed that cup, cept for the final race.
Extreme Euro is good farming too. I usually do it with the Gallardo or the 458. I love the Gallardo when weight reduced and with slicks. Cockpit is kind of deep, which looks cool.
Another fun grind race is DTM Nordschleife. An excuse to load out that lovely Lexus ISF Concept yet again. Likely my favourite car.Last edited by saturn-gamer; 23-12-2010, 18:51.

I use that Extreme Euro Rome race to farm for some light relief from the Extreme American Indy race. Used the Murcielago SV and 458 on it earlier.
Now have just over 8 million credits. Will avoid going to the UCD for now to avoid spening money as I want to get to 10 million which ought to unlock the Trophy. Got another 1000 Km Ticket just now which got me the Dale Earnhardt Chevy NASCAR whcih brings the count to three... one purchase and two Tickets.
Got my 8 Museum Cards and Paints today (due to somehow missing a set when the Internet was down).
Trouble with that Indy race is boredom sets in and I need a long enough break to wake up again!
Getting to 10 million credits will also mean that I hit Lvl 30 and can then see how far off the pace I am in the Vettel Challenge with the outrageous X2010. At least I only need Bronze it for one.
Got my latest Horn (what is the point of them, as I don't see the point of replacing one... I presume they are all just stock ones) and Matte Colour for having 480 cars.

I think it may be an EU thing with the paint as I recall some Americans complaining about it.
Got my "Multi-Millionaire" Trophy just now. Bank balance is standing at just over 10 million credits.
I see the Online Dealer has a changed stock including a White FGT now.
An extra set of Seasonal Events added. Lost interest after the first lot arrived as I was pretty much useless at them.
I have no worries about "cloning" cars as I don't seem to have much success with the events and I at least like to feel I am getting something extra out of the game other than the grinding for Exp.
With the 7.5 million Exp to get from Lv 39 to Lv 40 I can see no future in getting that far. B spec will be bad enough to get to Lv 35 for the X2010 but at least I can leave the driver to get on with it while I play on the 360. This obscene amount of Exp at higher levels is great for the 360 as I will need something to do!!! I have no intention of watching "Bob" race for 24 hours straight!Last edited by Bassman; 24-12-2010, 11:09.

I keep forgetting some of the games I have to play on my 360 etc, I've still got Oblivion to finish, Mass Effect 1 and 2, GTA LC Stories, plus Wolfenstein and Quake 4, then there's Metroid other M, Lego Batman and Cursed Mountain on the Wii, and I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting... I keep getting new games and forgetting about the old ones....

I 100%-ed Oblivion before starting on Fallout 3 GOTY. I think there are still some Achievements I can get on that. I have RE5 (plus some DLC) untouched, Tekken 6, Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY and I suspect one or two more older games. I was given Fable 3 for my birthday (progress was terminated when I had my cold last week and I (hope I) am getting NFS HP for Christmas. Truth be told that is probably sufficient to get "Bob" all the way to Lv 40.
What are your "Bobs" called? My current batch is...
P Newman (Extreme Cool - my only original B spec)
My Extreme Hot crew...
G Berger (on probabtion for bad driving!)
F Alonso
K Yamauchi
R Hammond
and on another account R Petty (he ought to do better at NASCAR!)
