Waste of time. This will only appeal to the true hardcore of GT fans. The other 99.9 percent who bought all the copies of the game would have moved on by then to something else (if they haven't already done so).

They should of just left them out of the game in the first place.

Waste of time my arse, it's just like any modern game with online features. They grow with time. GT5 is going to have a long lifespan.

I'm thinking that, but then I look at my progress after hammering it and think, yeah I'm going to do b spec just to get the most out of the game, but I'm never going to gold some of the special races. After that I doubt I'll go online, and I'll have arcade mode and practice left

All you need is an empty track, a car and some tunes. It could last forever

That's who it's for I imagine. I'm looking forward to seeing more cars premium'd up!

Who wouldn't want to see more of their cars, in more detail? especially if it's free

Poor GT5, a victim of its own hype.

Im hyped to see how the game grows and welcome any free dlc too. Bring it, Yam!

I suspect the new premiums are going to be upgraded versions of standard cars that have a premium equivalent, such as the SLR McLaren. I bought the used version of that and I would think it would be a prime candidate for upgrading as there would be little difference between it and the Showroom model.

The Used Dealer will I suspect have the same cars, where there is currently always an S by the cars there, some will then have a P there for Premium. So, we will still be stuck with only being able to get one colour of a car from the Used Dealer.

You get a standard McMerc SLR as a prize for all golds in one of the AMG Academy events. In fact, most of the prizes in that event are good. The SLS AMG is another one.

I'm currently "playing" B-spec. I figured if I'm gonna have to grind for money someone else can do it. It seems a lot of the prize cars are better than their A-spec equivilent

That surprises me to be honest.

When you consider that the premium cars take about six weeks to model it's a lot of expense for something unless they charge for it which it doesn't sound like here.

As mentioned I'd imagine it's likely to be variations on currently available models to cut down on development costs. Having said that though, it's not as if Polyphony is exactly short o money to spend.

I know there are other cars on the way already with things like the remaining NASCAR stock cars being available but they're essentially just new skins for existing cars.

My only concern would be that they farm the work out to third parties like other companies have done with their car models. Although Polyphony certainly aren't perfect I'd much rather keep the Standard models than have new Premium models with things like dashboards, steering wheels being imaginary ones rather than the correct versions as has happened elsewhere.

It's not really a case of choosing to leave them out of the game anymore than it was a choice of which cars would be Premium. Can you imagine the reaction if a second delay had been announced, imagine the sheer pain that some internet users would be caused by a second delay for something that isn't yet ready to be released.

Not really sure it matters who will use the cars.

Sales of the game have been consistent with previous versions and although it may be different this time the previous versions of the games have had steady long term sales in comparison with many other big games.

In the past I think a part of it has been that people know they aren't going to put out a new game every couple of years as happens elsewhere and with this version what's contained on the disc is only a part of Gran Turismo 5.

The more updates the better for me but again I'd really prefer they did them properly.

You mentioned hardcore which I don't think is ever a good word to use concerning games but I'm not sure I can actually think of a more suitable word for this game. In some ways it just doesn't attempt to be a console game and it's quite old fashioned in many ways but that's a large part of why I like it so much.

It doesn't hold your hand and lead you around like many console games, it just sticks you in there and it's up to you to put the hard work in to get your money's worth out of it.

Personally, I love it but then again, I was still playing GT4 the day I received this and I find this to be my favourite Gran Turismo of the series so far but the real test is whether I'll still be playing this version years down the line.

I can understand why many people don't like it and I can also understand the negativity that has been so prevalent on the internet as in many ways it's an easy target and online that is often enough for some people to start shouting.

I'd be happy for more games to just forget about current gaming trends and to forget about aiming for certain markets and to just make the bloody game they want to make.

I wonder when the web browser control feature is coming to bspec, that'll be pretty cool.

Still not got a pickup truck! I would have golded the bottom 3 if I did. sigh.

I've got one, want to borrow it? I won the pick-up races in it, it's no fun to drive and seems to follow the traditional US way of doing thing in that it's under designed and over built.

not a bad idea! if you want to pass it over I'll use it tomorrow then gift it back.

I'll send it as I'm playing the game now.

I wouldn't really be bothered about getting it back to be honest but I aiming to get 100% of the cars and I think it was a prize and I don't really want to give something away if I'm unable to buy another one later on.

                                EDIT:
                                I've sent it now.
