My drivers are good at taking the lead on their own initiative but once in the lead they will fall asleep. If I don't prod them to keep the pace up they eventually get passed again.

I think for the All Stars I probably used the FGT which is as close to overkill as possible (I don't have the X2010). Using a Hot rather than Cool driver will mean you can leave then to their own devices as a Hot driver will raise his temperature if another car catches up and will speed up.

I have been repeating the "Like the Wind" Indy race while I was doing other stuff to level some B spec drivers. I was a concerned over lap time, though that is partly due to their own level. R Hammond was able to do a 39 second lap at the start (with no prompting). "He" is now Lv 19. F Alonso (Lv 15) managed a 43 second lap under pretty much identical conditions. I still have one Cool driver who is Lv 19 but would require more input.

I have also been trying to use the highest level driver who has the Blue Arrow Box (signifying improvement I believe).

Tried that Skyline race with the '07 GT-R and the best I managed was 1 second behind at the end. I need to be more consistent as my 4th lap was about 3 seconds off the pace

I played this for the first time over xmas at my brother-in-laws. To be honest I was gob smacked at how bad the graphics were in some instances, but all that shock vanished when I had a crack on it with his ultra expensive steering wheel.. Just like the old days on the ps2.

With the deadline fast approaching I thought I should at least log a score for the drift trials. My god, it's difficult!

My first score at Tsukuba placed me at number 175,000 or so. I was able to improve that position to 75,000 with only a 1,000 point improvement (final score 5,500 odd), but.. shameful. I thought my Outrun 2 experience might have helped me here, lol.

What sort of scores have you guys set?

I had a similar performance at the Eiger trial and got placed 25,000 so I assume most people gave up after attempting the first one???

Decided top 2 placings on the first Seasonal Races was more than enough to contend with.

Finished "B spec" grinding Forza 3 (while pkaying GT5) having bought the last car on the latest DLC... a 2.75 million crefit Ferrari.

Back to GT5 to maybe get B spec Lv 24 by some Like the Wind grinding. May have to resort to the Indy 500 in A spec to get to Lv 32.

Well, the competitions are closed - it appears you don't get any reward at all for being way down the rankings, which is kind of annoying because I actually put a lot of time into it (before the oil change screwed up my entry validity). They should have given a token gift or something just for taking part :/

The nice thing is you can download the top 10 replays of time trial and drift trial. The number one drifter was in one constant drift from start to finish, but I think the car he used was the secret there. Everyone in the top 10 used the same car (1962 Buick).

In the last hour I pushed as hard as I could to try and improve on my 2nd place for the GT-R race, the 30 million credits for gold was a huge motivator! I just couldn't do it though, in the last ten minutes I splurged upgrading everything I could but the car felt strange and I didn't have enough time to get used to it.

There are a third set of events up now as well.

I haven't been doing as much of the seasonal events as much as I would have liked to but I like the idea that they have a deadline.

Only bad thing is, EVERYONE seems to use the same car which kind of spoils the fun and gives the game away. Perhaps they could split each event into skill levels, or something similar to allow people who can't spend all day trying to beat a time.

I like the new set of Seasonal Races. You set the difficulty level by adding as many upgrades to the car you use as you see fit. I did the C4 WRC one first and fully upgraded it and added Racing Softs. Way too easy. Got first on Lap 3 for some decent cash (1.5 mil - presumably 150 mil in the Japanese version). and some decent Exp. Went for less upgrades in the rest with the Racing Softs and did them easily, Total prize fund is 3.5 million! Got Lv 32 now and used the C4 race on a new account which was at Lv 16 after the last ones I could easily do. I got it to Lv 19 from that one and did the Advanced Top Gear race for the XFR '10 which this time was in my preferred colour for the car... Black.

Will probably revisit the races with just Racing Softs and see how I do, though the C4 WRC has a non-removable upgrade fitted.

Rally trials? Bugger I just can't do the rally parts of the game.

Rally is one of my favourite parts here, and I am quite decent at it (golded about anything Rally; also the Rally based license tests). I can't wait to clear them.

With the right car the Rallies I found easy and Golded all of them.

Managed (after some resetting before hitting OK and reloading) to get a Chrome Siilver Paint Chip. Not sure of any cars I want Chrome but still it is useful to have. With save backups and other accounts I should end up with 21 of them shortly!

Also got another 100 Race 1000 Km Ticket so kept restoring the save (not sure whether I needed to go that far) to get a decent car. On the fourth reload I got the Audi R8 '05 LMP car. I know it is a prize, but it is from an Endurance Race so there is no guarantee I will do it!

They should do something because I won't be bothering with any of the current/future time trials as it is now - there is no chance of me winning anything. I guess a lot of people will feel the same way.

It will be fun if you have a few friends trying to get as high up the board as possible to beat your ranking. Then it's fun.

I am not very good at Time Trials or Drifting so I'll just stick to the races. I must say the new ones appear to be aimed at all levels of (in?)competance which is a definite improvement.

Now have my 21 Chrome Silver Paint Chips to most likely gather dust! Now I just need to set up 5 on each of the minor accounts to make it easy in the inlikely situation that I need more.

I expect GT Planet will be inundated with complaints that the latest Seasonal Races are too easy.
