I'll try find them once I get my IB license.
EDIT: No you can't apparently, but you have the ability to adjust the stock brakes. In previous GTs I think you had to buy the upgraded ones to adjust brake balance (brake balance controller) etc.Last edited by speedlolita; 24-11-2010, 13:29.

good luck then...
Originally posted by IGN.comCustomisation options, however, are limited, especially in the wake of Forza 3's more comprehensive efforts. Beneath the skin it's detailed enough with several layers of upgrades that can be applied, (although, strangely, it's no longer possible to upgrade a car's brakes) but beyond that there's little else that can be done; paint jobs are limited to either the body or wheels while bodywork options are few across both the standard and the premium cars.

That baffled me too. Just as I am surprised by the apparent 'unlocking' of damage...
But IGN might talk bs, as I read somewhere that brake upgrades are car specific. Since Sony supposedly sent out review copies incredibly late, and if its true that damage etc progressively unlock, it does add up. But that a Forza 3, with a proven online system etc, came out a full year earlier are probably a factor for them reviewers as well.
The gameplay is brilliant, the racing itself is the best ever. But I think the overall package is sloppy. My worst fears were that I wouldn't appreciate the inclusion of standards because of inconsistencies, and that PD tried too much by adding small bits of a freaking lot. So far I played this is all came true. I can see that Polyphony wanted to offer a lot of diversity, but nothing's really focused.
If you think about it, there are Ps2 upscaled cars and tracks along brilliantly designed Ps3 cars and tracks. Its difficult to ignore.Last edited by saturn-gamer; 24-11-2010, 13:50.

Not to diss the discussion over the lack of customisation/upgrades you can put on your car but it's not like when you tune up/upgrade or whatever you car suddenly is unable to stop properly or the brakes don't work properly is it? I mean, basically at all times the brakes are suitable for whatever car you're driving? Like the cars start out with brakes that are up to the job even when the car is maxed out in other areas?
Sounds like other games are doing the upgrade/customisation business a bit better than GT5 though.

well, the times where i loved to play around with upgrades and tuning options are over for me anyway. i loved the auto upgrade feature in Forza 3 because it did a good job mostly. also Shift did a good job here, at least after the patch that fixed some of the broken stuff. its cockpit view and overall in-car race experience has yet to be matched.

well i think for me ...customisation is a real appeal for me in driving games....but also i like rewards for winning races and the whole making progress
but one thing that i think is soley lacking in most driving games is just scenary ...i love courses that have lots to them rather then just a simple strip of road

Race Pro and Shift are really the only racing games where i felt some sort of AI, at least in the way that the game mostly offered challenging and tense races no matter what car i was in. but dynamic difficulty was maybe the better expression for this. i like it when the AI drivers make mistakes, it makes the racing more realistic and exciting.

To be fair I dont think professsional racing drivers make that many mistakes anyway (They may somtimes crash but they certainly dont drive like manics), but the A.I. should never be perfect.
Having said that previous GT games have been increadabley easy once you get some really overpowered cars, if the A.I. made mistakes they would be even easier still, and I dont think that would be a good thing.Last edited by rmoxon; 24-11-2010, 15:53.
