Just to check an assumption of mine, all premium cars are purchasable, except say the x2010, anything I buy in the UCD or the majority of wins are non premium? Are there any premium cars that can't be bought?

I don't think there are, unless the GT Academy car is a Premium.

I think the Jag XFR may even be a standard that you can't buy. At least, I have not seen one in the UCD.

        Whats the GT academy car?

It is a 350Z/370Z (not sure which) that is used for the GT Academy Time Trials. You can only get it from a Ticket apparently (or supposedly)!

Hmm I might have that... ill have a look when this blasted 9 hour race finishes. (Over half way through level 34 when this is done!)

I've got that GT Academy edition car and it is indeed a Premium. Its a GT-R V-Spec though, not a Fairlady Z. Can't remember how I got it, or indeed the Jag XFR as I've got one of those too.

You get the Jaguar XFR from doing the Advanced Top Gear Test Track Challange

As for the GT Academy edition car im sure I have seen that in the dealership before??

I didn't think the Academy version was in the Dealership.

I had a "Why did I bother" moment with the Mk 1 Golf GTi. I did a full upgrade on the thing which gave about 220 HP and 700-ish Kg. Gave it a test drive (not being that into tuning I left it as it was). Even on some of the less severe corners it was struggling to get around. Way too much understeer.

Fortunately I went straight to Practice on the 'Ring from the Tuning Shop so I Quit the game completely which removed the upgrades and restored the money. Quite a useful trick if you want to test out upgrades on a car but can't afford to waste the money on a "lemon"!

The Volvo C30 on the other hand (again FF) which gets to 428 (or so) HP and spins wheels was transformed with the Limited Slip Diff and goes round corners surprisingly well for FF and that much power. Mine is currently shared for viewing. Painted a decent white with Carbon Hood/Bonnet and a Wing it does look the part.

Some cars are way off and just go like pap. I built a fully modded fireblade thinking it would be a weapon with it being around 350kg plus 200 bhp and it was awful. Slow with poor handling.

You can buy it Standard dealership, under Gran Turismo (same place as the x2010)

That is not the GT Academy Car. The Academy Car has stickers (numbers?) on the doors. The GT-R you can get for Gold-ing the S License. Not sure about the 370Z.

This reminds me that you can complete Rise of the Robots by jamming the stick up right and hitting autofire!

Would you like to enjoy Gran Turismo 5 without the grinding required for later level races and cars? Then have a look at what one guy done on the GTP forums.

Made a new topic for all the requests I got and the disbelief there is on the forums. Seems there is a lot of interest in this method, which is no wonder really !!Since the amount of experience you need to grind between 36'isch and 40 is quite insane. ( This is where you will end up after...

What was that boxing game on the Amiga where you could become the undisputed heavywheight champion of the world just by putting your quickshot II on autofire?
