They restricted Gifting cars to one a day. Initially you could send as many as you liked so there was potential to get a lot of Birthday cars onto your main account very quickly.

Looks as if there are not going to be any Seasonal Races added this week. There are none yet, and the Online Car Dealer has changed.

If they are not doing Seasonals so often that will pretty much kill the game for a lot of people as the money and experience was very useful. If that is the case I can't see myself progressing A spec much more. B spec is not too bad for now so I may try to get it to Lv 35.

If there are no more weekly Seasonals, I won't be buying many new cars other than by the save, buy, send and restore method. Just bought the latest FGT to add to my collection of colours, complete with Engine and Chassis Overhaul. I wanted the same amount of power as the others, as this weeks had a higher mileage than some that have been in the online dealer.

There was a news update about the seasonal's scheduling last week. They said it would basically be every Thursday but sometimes would be one or two days later. I guess they said that because they knew this week would be late?

I hope that's it anyway.

Some at GTP are talking about the next update, though as far as I know nothing has been substantiated. Maybe they are going to release that first to somehow tie in with the delayed Seasonal races.

Other rumours include trying to stop duplicating. The problem with that is the slightly risky business of trading though the game was not intended for that. If a lot of people lose cars because they cannot restore all the cars on their saves they will not be best pleased!

Glanced in the newsagent when I was shopping just now and it looks as if Forza 4 is going to have something connected with Top Gear as Microsoft seem to have some sort of agreement with the BBC. Maybe that is why the GT5 coverage is not what it could have been.

So, there are no new Seasonal Events, yet the Online Dealership has changed and contains some Rally Cars.

Option 1... is that maybe they only intended 6 Seasonal Events. By definition a Seasonal Event is not going to be permanent. Time will tell I suppose.

Option 2... Up to now the Bonus Races have been of the overtaking variety. Rally Events normally consist of you plus three other cars. I suspect that the new Seasonals may coincide with a new update to allow perhaps for a slightly changed Rally Event with more cars so that it is closer in style to the Bonus Races.

Then again I could be totally wrong on all counts!

Had a play with the Honda Z Act. I tried it on the 'Ring (13 minutes!) with a Custom gearbox I reduced that by about 40 seconds.

I now have the car fully tuned (80 HP and 469 Kg). First run at the 'Ring I drove over a kerb before a left hander and the car "fell over|" on the bend. Second attempt (less kerb!) I got around in a fraction under 9 minutes. Quite a fun car. Saw 120 mph briefly!

It's definitely not option 1, as they wouldn't put out a news message about the new events appearing every thursday (+/- one day), one week before they intended to stop them permanently.

I want the Delta HF Integrale and the Lancer Evo VI Rally cars. Just over 100mil for the pair of them, and I already have a Group B Delta S4 that would destroy them both too. How long will the be in the OCD for?

I'll repeat what everyone says "ITS A DRIVING GAME, NOT A RACING GAME" so what is the big deal? The cheaters or the fact that the game allows shed-loads of corner cutting? Of course, if you are mental, its the former!!

It?s been a rough week for GT Academy USA. After corner-cutting at the Indy Road Course prompted SCEA to replace the track, most assumed the debacle was behind us. However, a few noted that on the new course, ?Eifel 102A?, the grass could still be used as a runoff area without in-game penalty. This wasn?t particularly alarming to most participants, as many of top drivers used the grass to run wide at a notorious corner on Cape Ring in Round 1 (and nothing was done about that).
SCEA, however, is apparently being much more vigilant in this round, having just cleared the leader boards and replaced not one, but both tracks ? check out the official announcement here.
The new Round 2 car/track combinations are the GT-R V-Spec II N?r (R34) on Madrid Reverse and the XANAVI NISMO GT-R at Rome Reverse. The round will still end at midnight, this Sunday, February 6th. Presumably, they?ve now chosen city tracks to reduce the chance of run-offs and corner cutting as much as possible.

nah, not really, just makes me laugh that they are trying to do something in the game that it doesn't do (i.e. have any limits to promote good driving or racing).

I thought I might as well forgo playing the GT Mode now (as I have just about every car I want really anyway) and try and bring some fun / get some value out of what little game there is in this.

I thought I try out some Arcade mode and found the Drift Trials quite addictive! The only think is that I cannot connect my local scores/times to a online leaderboard. Did I miss an option somewhere or am I doing this in the wrong mode or something? Cheers.

I believe Arcade Mode has no leaderboards. Ofcourse a patch will add them like they are doing with dozens of things like this, but ofcourse this should've been in the game right away (a lot of those things were in Prologue even).

You have to do seasonals for online leaderboards IIRC.

Yes, at some point the game may actually have everything advertised on the box!

Ran five Indy 500's and now have B spec Lv 31 (best driver is I think 30).

Even B spec is beginning to get to be a grind. The one thing in its favour is that I can turn on the 360 while Bob is racing and play some games (Crackdown 2 arrived today let alone other games that need some serious play time!).

Strange as it may seem I have been looking for an unused Vitz (Yaris) RS Turbo and one of my Ticket 1000's produced one last night in a rather nice Metallic Blue. I will be interested to see how it compares with the Used ones. Those Tickets (on secondary accounts) are beginning to produce some decent cars now, if only one or two a day! I was pleased to see the road XJ220 and NSX-R LM Road appear, plus other Standards.

If anyone starting out and would like a Vitz/Yaris Turbo (only good option for the series for that car) I am sure something can be arranged. Send me a Friend Request (I still have a few free Friend slots!).
