If you set up a long race with someone else's B spec driver you probably both get a decent amount of Experience. Use a fast car and Indy with a good number of laps and you probably both do quite well out of it.

Just doing my first remote race, set up on PS3. didn't realise you can pick others drivers yourself, also can you not tell your guy to hurry up as there are two drivers who are way out in the clear lol.

I have no idea what options you have for Remote Races as I have not tried them yet.
Did a B spec Indy 500 and there is a decent improvement in Experience (though not as good as the A spec increase). It is up from (I think) 150K to 270K, which does make it useful.
Well my GT Academy Tuned Nissan 370Z "collection" is almost complete. I just need the Yellow one now.
I now have to hope my Ticket 1000's will come up with a GT-R SpecV Gt Academy version at some point!
I reinstated an old (birthday) account and did the current Bonus Races which got it to Lv 20. I now have a Jaguar XFR '10 on there from doing the Advanced Tope Gear Challenge. Now going to complete the Professional Races for a Lv 12 Ticket to help speed up the process of getting that last 370Z. My B spec driver there is M(ika) Salo (another ex-F1 driver).Comment

I got a nice surprise ten minutes ago - an email from Sony Japan giving me a DLC code for a Mazda 787B in stealth colours, to match the 5 first edition DLC cars.
It seems this was a reward for ranking in the odd seasonal event that ran from Jan 14th to Feb 14th. I had no idea there were DLC rewards, because in my game it only said 'NO TEXT' in the description. I wonder if it was Japan only? Anyone else get it?
Anyway I'm very happy. This is what I was hoping for when I first saw the time trial and drift trial seasonals... a reason to take part!Comment

I presume that event did not even appear in the list for other regions of GT5 (I do wonder about Japanese versions being played in Europe though...). They probably also didnt consider that there would be players in Japan who had their consoles set to English, hence the NO TEXT. I bet if we had our systems set to Japanese the description would have appeared.
Anyway, the email talked about it as the "Tokyo Auto-Salon special event".Comment

That would explain the NO TEXT. My online always goes to Japan as my default Gran Turismo online region, I always have to select all. My default PS3 account is Japanese too. Which might explain it thinking I'm still in Japan, even the GT clock seems to think this. The reason I keep my Japanese PS3 in English is because my mate changed his HD to a slim PS3 and did not read the Japanese properly and lost his data. I just shared one of my Online compatible tracks.
I set up a new account (just for a change!). I did all the Seasonal Races up to and including the first Ferrari F1 race. Spent some money on upgrading a couple of cars and also used cars from my main accounts that I had shared. The Account is now Lv 22 and has about 3 million in the kitty and a small collection of low mileage cars.
I did the FF race first and managed to buy a car (the cheap Civic from the EU OCD on which I did an engine overhaul to get the engine performing at its best) and upgraded it enough to win the first FF race which I didn't think was too bad going. I even had 264 credits left out of the 20K! Spent most of that win on upgrading it more to speed up the other FF races and the Bonus Civic race at Suzuka. I did the Body Overhaul to improve the steering reaponse. Only other car I used that I bought was a low mileage Pontiac GTO which I upgraded suitably. Both good cars.Comment

Update 1.07 out - adds friend filters to the time trial and drift trial leaderboards (another great addition!).
Also trading of cars of high value is now prohibited, and sharing can only be done with the borrow option. Too late to take advantage of any of Bassmans generous offers

I left that part out because it's confusing. The English news update in the Japanese version said 1,000,000 which cannot be correct, because that rules out 99% of the cars in the game. I presume they meant 1,000,000,000 and it was another language oversight.Comment

Yes, it is cars under 1,000,000 credits in the EU/US versions of the game.
Another nice little unpublicised change is that you can only send one car and five items per console now.
The credit limit on gifts is a bit of a pain as I have no real desire to grind ad nauseum for the LM cars I still need. I can live with the one send a day as I am currently trying for cheap cars for my main account...

Rumour has it that Gold Chrome is now available in the game. Still not sure of the validity of this. There have been pictures and people offering to trade them so it sounds legit. Sounds even more undesirable on a car than the normal silver chrome.

Between the three accounts I mentioned (RogsR34UK, RogsR34UK1 and RogsR34UK2), I have the cars for the current Seasonal Bonus Races, F10, F2007, FGT and a few cars from the Professional Series that I did on another account. I may have to add a fully modded 330 P4 if I can find a slot.
I completed all the races (except some of the F1 races) on those accounts.
My 350Z was tuned to 351Hp on my main and has Racing Softs. I'll try your Fairlady Z.
That Impreza surprises me. With the Power Limiter set to 75% the thing really seems to fly along. With that setting (397 HP) I managed a 6:58 at the 'Ring! I will try to leave the Impreza when I change cars.
I will have cars on my latest Account (RogsR34UK3 - nothing if not creative with my accounts) where I may have my Murcielago shared (as I bought one on that account).
If you want access to any of those cars, I have plenty of free Friends Slots on those other accounts.
