This game is quite a lot harder than other cave titles I've played..

Cept maybe Ketsui. Can currently barely clear the first stage without getting hit.

Late to the party with this one, but the game seems absolutely crazy. And very hard. Not fully figured out the mechanics yet but am already loving what I do understand. Not sure I'll enjoy it as much as DeathSmiles but can see it providing a lot of entertainment.

Delighted to discover the game can be played as a horizontal shooter and therefore full screen (if you change the screen options to side but keep the menu options as they are the game reconfigures the directional controls). So no squinting from the couch for me. Good stuff.

Weird really as I find it an easier Cave as I can get to level 4 one cc without blinking with the power mode. Lovely game need more time on it but got so many shmups to play on 360 I keep flitting

Like the man says, its tough at first but actually over time works out to be one of the easier Cave games. You should in time be to level 4 on one credit.

Try with 360 Novice mode first, you should be able to 1cc it in no time.

I'ver read this entire thread hoping to find some tips and learn more about the game's mechanics and noticed people frequently saying it's one of the easier Cave games so I'll take your word for it. But I'll be honest, some of the enemies (especially those multiple spinning laser thingies on stage 5), the bullet patterns, and frankly insane amount of bullets and popcorn on-screen fills my head with quite a bit of doubt that I'll ever find the game easy. Not that it matters too much, it's insanely good fun to play, and watching a replay from the leaderboards (where some guy managed a 26000 hit combo in Xbox 360 Mode) it's clear the mechanics are pretty deep and provide plenty of scope for subtlety and mega-scoring.

Level 5 is a bastard with those rotating Ikaruga type laser orbs, its my least favourite of the game and spoils it a tiny bit.

Managed to 1cc the game using type B ship, strong style (in erm, cough... novice mode) and entered the second loop racking up a 11000 hit combo along the way and ultimately scoring 12 billion which I was pretty chuffed with. Then I checked the leaderboards and saw the top score was over 500 billion. Haha. Insane.

Pretty much got the mechanics and scoring system all figured out now (except for Arrange B) which makes playing the game super addictive and even more fun, and also means those replays on the leaderboards are even more impressive when you understand what they're doing.

I notice there's a v1.51 DLC pack for the game for 80pts but can't seem to find a reliable list of what it does. What changes does it introduce?

Fantastic buddy Well done. 1.51 made it easier and has broken scoring later on (you can basically double your score on I think level 5 boss)

Cheers for the link. Seems to have some interesting changes so I think I'll buy it. Might pick up Black Label mode too as many claim it's superior to any other mode.

Anyone here managed to enter the second Ura loop? After much failing I finally managed to 1cc novice mode while collecting all 45 bees beleiving those were the requirements but only entered the regular second loop. I've since discovered you have to 1cc the game, collect all 45 bees, AND die no more than once, AND use no more than two bombs. I mean that's just mental. I swear the people at Cave are sick bastards. Either that or they're ridiculously gifted gamers. Either way I'll never see the Ura loop. It's light years beyond what I'm capable of.

Black label is a definite purchase buddy. I got 1.51 with the JPN version and bought BL and did it again on Pal lol. Dunno why I bought 1.51 again as not keen on it. Guess bit like Muchi Muchi Pork but I prefer Pink Sweets arrange mode with the free DLC

If u want to add me for score attacks feel free with Dazzyman, but just got a Vita so may be awhile

I may well send you a friend request as there's nothing like another's score to spur you on to do better. Trouble is I ain't had much luck registering scores and get disconnected 75% of the time, same thing happens in DeathSmiles too.

Scored 19 billion last night thanks to occasional skill and a bucketfull of luck. Bagged several B icons when I was one hit away from losing a life, including the extra you get at 10 bil when I was one hit away from game over. Ended up clearing the first loop and reaching the secret boss of the second run using no continues. Pretty pleased with that. Gonna take a break from scoring for a bit and focus on figuring out how to bag the 10,000 hit chain (360 mode) and 100,000 hit chain (arrange A) achievements.
