Had a few games on MP and was disappointed with the bad connections, PS3 many times 1 or 2 bars max for most players including me and I alwaysnget 4 bars with COD games.

Sometimes emptying whole clips to no effect. Hopefully it it will improve.

Enjoying single player much more then I though I would. It is really good.

Does anyone else get really ****ty loud and distorted music in the MP menus? (360). Its usually just as the match is about to start.

Yes, was going to start checking wires and such, thought something was going wrong.

PS3 mp menu music doesn't distort but sometimes it goes epically loud. Mp is much like the beta, fun but the map quality is mixed. Sp seems very good though.

This is deffinitley a PC game adapted to consoles, you can tell by the fact that the checkpoints are so far apart.

But anyway its an absolubtley increadable game, the graphics are jaw dropping and despite some people whining about framerate drops none of that has effected me during my time with the 360 version as yet so i think they were talking a load of rubbish.

The gameplay itself is just the best in the business, and much like the first Crysis this is a first person shooter that you can play any way you want to play it, and the more closed in city setting actualy leads to more options as far as combat goes on top of that. The levels are works of genius IMO, there are so many ways you can tackle any given situation and as a result the game is suited to any type of gamer. Some people will like the stealth route, personally I like to switch on the armour and go in guns blazing.

Whatever you do though this game makes you feel like such an unstopable killing machine, you'll love doing whatever you choose to do and without a doubt this is the best FPS I have played in years, its absolubtley spectacular.

Two outstanding shooters this year already, Deus 3 and BF3 still to come. Amazing.

I'm blown away by this. The levels are huge! I'm playing on hard and dieing quite a lot (as mentioned, checkpoints are far apart), each time I'm finding new areas and ways to tackle the combat 'bubbles'. This is PC brought to console, not the other way round as many moaned about pre-release. Great to see Crytek prove so many wrong!

i knew since gamescom that we were about having a new technical benchmark on consoles. but i am glad to hear that the game also seems to live up to the Crysis heritage.

here's the Digital Foundry PS3 vs. Xbox 360 showdown:
Still one of the most resource-intensive games when run on max settings, the original Crysis ranks as one of the most v…

seems the 360 frame rate drops are, even if easily avoided through stealth gameplay, an annoying issue in single player. is there a patch in the making?

Had fun with this so far in the campaign.

I'm certainly enjoying the freeform gameplay in this although I believe in comparison to the first game it's a lot more limited. The game seems to be geared far more towards the slow silent kills rather than all out gunplay which suits me.

I've had occasional issues with the game though such as AI soldiers repeating the same lines of speech or running on the spot. Nothing major but still annoying.

Graphically it's a very pretty game in some regards but it's prettiness in those areas does seem to come at a pretty hefty cost in other areas with things like pop-in, textures, awful and almost constant motion blur as well as other things looking well below par. I'd personally prefer that they'd gone for a more uniformed level of quality as I've found the poor graphics to be really jarring when viewed alongside the better stuff.

The best looking console game so far? For me, not a chance as there are games on all three consoles which I would rate above this graphically due to them maintaining a consistently high standard which this isn't able to do.

It's still an attractive game though even with the problems.

Although I only played the original games briefly I do feel that an open jungle environment would have suited the gameplay far more than this urban setting. I suppose getting that sort of environment running on both consoles would have meant far more sacrifices were needed than they've got away with here.

I wonder if we'll ever get the wonderful looking open environments that were originally shown running on the consoles a couple of years ago?

I imagine there will be a sequel in the next year or two and hopefully Crytek will be able to get the engine running a lot better by then.

The audio works well although I do miss the HDR technology recently used in Killzone 3 which allowed the game the dynamically alter the depth of field in realtime as well bouncing the sound off buildings. Hopefully Battlefield 3 will be using it though as I believe Frostbite Engine 2.0 supports the technology.

That's just reminded me of something else, the incessant "NANO-VISON ENABLED" type vocals whenever you activate something is really annoying. I can't find any way to disable it either which is unfortunate.

The negatives that I've mentioned are all pretty minor though and really shouldn't effect people thinking about buying it as so there are many positives in the game so far. As seems to happen with good games, the negatives seem far more jarring because you compare them to the parts that do work well.

Although I've not tried it myself, having downloaded gameplay videos I really would recommend people buying the PC version if it's an option for them as both console versions do look quite ropey at times. I suppose that goes without saying though.

The best thing about this so far for me is that I feel it plays differently to other shooters, for me the more recent shooters of Medal of Honor & Killzone 3 were both really enjoyable but pretty anonymous when standing amongst the crowd of other shooters that are available.

Black Ops & Bulletstorm both lasted about an hour before I'd had enough of them but Crysis 2 really does stand up on its own merits for me.

I take it you havent played that very far into this yet then? as the game progresses the city does become a massive open environment, its just as open as the jungle was in the first game, in fact theres actualy alot more options than in the first game due to the fact that a city features much more varied enviornments than a jungle.

Also I disagree about it being focused on stealth, I have hardly used stealth at all becuase the armour mode is so awesome and I am not finding my options limited in the slightest, the games greatest strength for me (and this is saying alot becuas it has loads of stengths) is that no matter how you play the game you will never be at a disadvantage, there are so many ways to tackle both the enviroments and enemies, its just really great how they have pulled it off, you never feel like there is a right way to do anything, you feel like you can just play it how you want too, and whatever you do usualy works.

Wow. Well its nice that you can't see them, but they are there nevertheless. I just hope there wasn't comprimises made in the engine so that it could do 3D (as I think 3D is a pile of wank personally)

For people who play on xbox 360 and PC. Do PC have same control if I plug in XBOX 360 pad to PC. I don't want to use keyboard/mouse

had a good rip on this last night online (psn) and it was amazing - there was a fair bit spawn - die - spawn - die going on but starting to get to grips with it. There are so many options, strategies, perks

                              amazing stuff
