The AI in this is atrocious. Playing on normal or whatever the default difficulty level is called. Enemies just standing there whilst I shoot them in the face. Still mildly enjoying this, but its nowhere near as good as the prequel. I implore anyone who's enjoying this to give the first game a whirl on a decent spec PC.

The original crysis had dumb enemies too though, I still think this is alot better game.

I imagine its much harder to do A.I. well in games like this than it is for ones with more focused gameplay and much more linear type environments that are full of scripted sequences.

Finished this the other night. Best SP FPS I've played... umm, probably since Half Life 2. I absolutely adored it, just great, great fun.

Just finished, agree with Jusatsushi it's the best sp campaign I've played for years. Very decent music and voice acting as well, not too 'Oorah'/jingoisitic/hysterical which made for a refreshing change (especially Hargreave, great character). Was good also to have a game fixed on one location, rather than hopping about just for the sake of variety. Watching Manhattan getting torn apart as the game progressed was amazing, especially

the flood and central park aloft sections

. Real shame about the hokey AI, which let it down on so many occasions.

My final battle with the four cloaked aliens was made a teensy bit easy when they decided to bunch together as a group and get stuck on an animation loop walking into a cliff wall

. Suspect devs wasted resources putting pointless details into game world (switching monitors on/off, mucking about with drinks dispensers, etc.) which might've been cool in Deus Ex but are old hat now. No doubt things'll improve for inevitable sequel, though, which for once I'm looking forward to...

I'm happy to award another Two Thumbs Fresh.

            A trivial story/detail question that's bugging me:

how come in the early scene when Prophet shoots himself after having put Alcatraz into suit, he appears still to be wearing the suit himself? Or are those fancy all-in-one nano pants?

I thought that, I presumed it was some kind of techno onesie that you have to wear underneath, much like iron man. Maybe the suit makes one for you when you wear it, that would seem plausible given that they seem to be able to do anything with nano technology in crysis

Yeah, could be. I suppose if it can stop an entire alien civilization in its tracks it should be able to knit an all-in-one set of grundies as well.

wow, this is the best Crysis game yet and the best FPS campaign i've played in a very very long time! finished the 360 version on veteran difficulty after roughly 15 hours. again, this is a true campaign - not just a number of different levels loosely tied together through additional cutscenes like in Killzone 3. there is so much to love about the game that it's easy to forgive the few flaws it has (occasional AI dropouts , framrate drops, some object and texture pop-in). the variety in missions and gameplay options is immense: stealth and reconnaissance, protect and denfense missions and full guns blazing run & gun action. some exploration, lot's of weapons and add-ons to experiment with, and of course the upgradable Nanosuit 2.0 which really makes you feel like a super soldier - think of Master Chief meets Batman. i just hope Crysis 3 wont be too far off!

Anyone else pick up a massive MGS vibe towards the end?

                      Yeah -

leading up to the showdown with wotsisname on that island

                      - very MGS. Except I blew my cover early on and went in all guns blazing, which is pretty much how I play MGS too

The Nano suit voice is pretty cool, it doesnt actualy get annoying no matter how often you hear "Armour enabled".

One voice I absolubtley hated though was Hargreves, he sounds like his on his death bed the entire game (which I suppose makes a bit of sense given a certain twist near the end, but its still annoying) and he just has this voice that seems to linger on every single word for far too long than it should, its quite horrible and depressing to listen to him blabber on for ages every chance he gets.

Doesnt stop the game from being absolubtley increadable, as it certainly still is, but its annoying never the less.

I loved voice acting for Hargreaves, thought he was pitched just right as a character. Gently deranged, reminded me a bit of G-man. Agree with Uli, though, the sexy AI nanosuit voice is amazing, which obviously (? I think)

is Prophet/his consciousness embedded in the suit - especially when the voice turns all 'kickass' at the end.

The Nano suit had the same voice in the first crysis... so no that had nothing to do with the sound of the voice.

I dont understand how anyone could like Hargreeves voice, I think he was designed to make you want to punch him in the face.

Ach bloody ell, there is a glitch in the 360 version that stops you getting the achievements for finishing if you played the game on the hardest setting

                                Suckers.

Really enjoyed this, was really impressed with how long it was, it didn't bore me either
